Monday, May 31, 1948

Ivard & Kids did beets until noon & I cleaned up & sewed at 1: we went to Caldwell for Ivard to sign up for Rail Road Comp. Came back & Ivard got his wash outs filled in. We ate late & all went to bed.

Sunday, May 30, 1948

Ray was sick & I stayed home with him & Ivard & big Kids went to sunday school. I cleaned up & made a cake & icecream. Kids brought Jimmy & Melvine home. we ate at 4: & I did dishes. Jimmy stayed all night. We took Melvin home & went to Glens awhile.

Saturday, May 29, 1948

Ivard & Kids did beets & I went to Adrian & got new hose, sprayer & plants. we ate dinner & planted tomatoes & I did up work & baked bread. went over to Sybles & washed my hair & bathed. at 8: we went & got Syble & Lee & went over to Stans to party on Don & Edith.

Friday, May 28, 1948

took Kids up to school after report cards, they all got promoted. spent all day doing 3 weeks wash moved everything out of back porch & scrubbed & cleaned it good. Ivard went miss.

Thursday, May 27, 1948

took Ray up to school to clinic then at noon we all went up to school to picnic & played ball. got home at 4: Stan & Louise came & brought Edith over. went up to school to vote for consolidation but we couldn't vote, not on tax list, sure ignored people.

Wednesday, May 26, 1948

I went selling Avon all day. came home & got supper. Syble & Lee came over & Ivard cut Lee's hair then we went over & got them & we went to Adrian to show. got plants today.

Tuesday, May 25, 1948

did up work & sewed awhile. This afternoon I went to closeing relief society party went over to Besendorfers & delivered Avon after. Ivard went miss.

Monday, May 24, 1948

went over & got Mrs. Ricks & we did our relief society teaching got home at 1: & we went to Caldwell & Lyle had teeth filled & Gail some pulled.

Sunday, May 23, 1948

We all went to sunday school. Lyle went over to Melvins. We rode up to Carlsons awhile. Lyman Renolds came over awhile. Jimmy was over all day & stayed all night

Saturday, May 22, 1948

Ivard & Kids thinned & watered beets. and I did my work. After we got Kids to bed we went over to Sybles & I washed my hair & bathed & we played games & made candy.

Friday, May 21, 1948

did up work & went & helped Ivard start to water beets on the hillside sure rained hard on us. ate lunch & got Kids to bed & crocheted awhile. went over to Lee's at 3:30 & got setting hen. ate supper & got books up. Ivard went up to Carlsons but she was sick so they didn't go out.

Thursday, May 20, 1948

did up my work & this afternoon I watered the garden Ivard was thinning beets. We ate & Ivard went miss. but it was so late they didn't go so we went to bed early.

Wednesday, May 19, 1948

I went out all day & watered beets while Ivard thinned. rained on us awhile. We ate supper & went over to Glens & had Ivards hair cut. I went up to school & had charge of party for first 6 grades. Am & Gert were up on honeymoon. We took Doris & Eddie home at midnight.

Tuesday, May 18, 1948

started out selling at 11:30 & went up to Lamberts but she was sick so I sat & talked to her. then went & got Syble & we went to relief society. Came home & got supper & went & got Syble & we went to Adrian to show "The Hagen Girl." stormy. Ivard was going out miss. but it got too late.

Monday, May 17, 1948

got up & did up work & went to Wilder then went selling Avon until noon. came home & ate & Mrs. Studyke came & we went to Caldwell with Ivard to look for P.T.A. chairs. Lyle had a tooth filled & Gail had 3 pulled. came home & Kids & I went down to apple orchard & got aspargus. we ate & Ivard went missionarying & I was till 12:30 botteling 14 qts. aspargus.

Sunday, May 16, 1948

did up work & Kids & I went to sunday school & Ivard watered all day. I took his dinner up this afternoon & helped him until 6: then he shut it off. Gail went to Stokers all day & night. Lyle brought Melvine Ballentine home. Ivard, Lyle & I went to church & up to Stans after & had punch with Ray & Evelyn.

Saturday, May 15, 1948

Ivard & Kids were all day watering hill side, sent his dinner up. I thinned 4 rows of beets & about killed me. scrubbed & waxed kitchen & dineing room. we had a bon fire & weinie roast for our supper out in back yard, for Kids cleaning it up.

Friday, May 14, 1948

did up work. we got our milk check Ivards Rail Road comp. & our income tax refund. I went to Parma & got Gene shoes & 2 sacks of flour, 100 lbs. sugar & a lot of groceries with income tax refund. We ate & Ivard went out miss. I worked on relief society pillow slips until he got home.

I took Kids to school & went down to Chaneys to see about our school party we are in charge of. Came home & worked on pillow slips. We ate & Ivard went out miss.

Wednesday, May 12, 1948

got up at 5:30 & got Ivards breakfast & he went out to plant corn. I did up work & worked on relief society Pillow slips all day. Gail took Gales horse home & I went over to Adds & delivered Avon & brought him home. We ate & went & got George & Martha to go to Ontario to 70's party but time we went up to see Ray it was too late so we went to Adrian to show

Tuesday, May 11, 1948

got up & embroideired until time to get breakfast. at 10: Ivard & Kids took me over to relief society work day at Adrian. came & got me at 4: went over to Besendorfers & got aspargus roots first. came home & ate & Ivard & Kids finished laying pipe & I did dishes & watered berries. I took Ivard up to Carlsons to go miss. & I went to P.T.A. got on 2 committees.

Monday, May 10, 1948

did up work & finished my iorning. I got up at 5:30 & iorned till 3:30. We ate lunch & went over & got Syble & Norton & took them to Caldwell with us. stoped & got aspargus on way home. I took Syble home at 4: We ate & Ivard & Kids laid pipe. Ivard went out miss. & I embrodeired till he got home.

Sunday, May 9, 1948

we got up early & Lyle scrubbed dineing room & we did up work & bathed Kids. Went to Mother Day programe. Lyle went to Ballentines all day. We ate ate chicken dinner at 3:, icecream & cake. Kids gave me some presents & did dishes. We milked & at 7:30 went for ride then over to Lee's & visited awhile.

Saturday, May 8, 1948

cold & stormy all day. Ivard & Kids laid pipe all day. Jerry & I went to Wilder & got cement & on way home got a big pan asparagus at the orchard on the way went over to Sybles & got our roaster & Lee killed me a hen give me some potatoes & stuff. We ate & I made a cake for tomorrow. Went to bed early.

Friday, May 7, 1948

I did up my work & dampened clothes & finished my new dress all but heming it & I took Ivard over to Langdon's corner to go to church farm & thin beets & I went up to Stans & Lawrences & delivered Avon. got back to Glens at 9: & we came home & fed little Kids. & went to bed. lights were out. big Kids had got there own supper.

Tuesday, May 4, 1948

Gails shot in arm made him plenty sick. he stayed home in bed all day. Ivard & I went over to Lee's with horses & got a big load of hay for horses. ate lunch & went back & got a big load for the cows. We ate & Ivard went missionarying.

Monday, May 3, 1948

took Kids up to school to clinic & everyone of us had shots. Lyle & Gail came home at noon & we went to Caldwell & Lyle had 2 teeth out and Gail had 4. Lee went with us & when we came home they shot a pheasant & Ivard cleaned it. We ate & all Kids went to bed before dark. Ivard went miss. wrote Ma.

Sunday, May 2, 1948

All went to sunday school & fast meeting. Lyle went to Ballentines all day. & Gail went to Stokers & stayed all night. We came home & ate & went over to Lees & had pie & icecream with Afton & Lawrence. Came home & did chores & went to Primary Conference. Went to Stans after & talked until midnight.

Saturday, May 1, 1948

stormed about all day. I went to Parma & got groceries then I helped Ivard & Kids all afternoon pour cement in our water sump, Lee came & helped a little too. Ivard & Lyle went to a scout party & I made 2 sheets, cleaned my bedroom & bathed all the Kids. We played a game of penochle when Ivard came.
