Wednesday, December 31, 1958

We were all up when Ivard came from work. I fixed grapefruit & Gene made mush then the Vet came & tested the heard for bangs so we ate after they were through. Gail & Lynda came & Ivard went to bed. At 11;30 Gail left for home & Kay went over to Hammonds. I made a big Kettle of chilli & washed clothes. Ivard got up at 1:30 & He & I and Jackie went to Nampa & paid car & baler & Ivard went & marked up to work on his day off today. went to Caldwell & had milk shake & got groc. & eggs & some candy & nuts for tonight & came home & ate & Ivard got called out breaking to Boise for 7: left at 5:45. I dampened clothes & Kay came home & ate & had a nap & at 8:30 Bob, Fran & Claudia came & got him & they went to Stake dance. We had candy & nuts & punch & watched T.V. "Since you went Away" real good. Kids all went to sleep by 11:30. I went out side at midnight but couldn't hear any noise. just got in bed at 12:05 when Ivard got home.

We've had a good year & good health.

sent Jerry a letter & his money to Salt Lake.

Ivard came home from work & came to bed. Gene did chores & we got up late & ate & Ray did up work.

Gail & Lynda & Debbie came & brought Chris & Lanny, they made so much noise Ivard got up. We visited and they played monoply awhile.

We ate early & Gene did chores & at 7: Ivard took Kay & Gene over to school to go to Ontario to play ball. J.V.'s got beat Varsity won., He took Ray over to Petersons to go swimming with Scouts & he got Gail & Lynda & they went to Ontario to game. I wouldn't leave little Kids alone & besides I didn't feel good. Me & Kids went to bed at 7:30.

Ivard & Kids came home & Ivard went to work.

Monday, December 29, 1958

got new movie camera & projector

Ivard got home at 7: A.M & came to bed. I got up late & made french toast & we ate & I changed all the beds & washed & Kay moved every thing in his room & washed walls & woodwork & Ivard put up their new Traverse rods & I made their drapes & got them up & patched Rays overalls. Ray scrubbed & waxed & I wrote down all the names we got Xmas cards from & worked on books.

Ivard & Gene fixed fence & had lunch & at 2: Kay & Gene went to basketball practice until 6:30. Ivard got bumped again & goes on midnights.

I got supper & we ate when Kids came.

Ivard & Kids watched T.V. & I wrote a long letter to Jerry

Kay went ward teaching with Jease.

Ivard went to work at 11: & we all went to bed.

Sunday, December 28, 1958

Ivard came home at 8: & went to bed, he'd run off road, he was so tired. I tended Jackie while he slept she had such a cold we didn't go to church with Kids.

When Kids came we had hot Turkey sandwiches & Kay took me over to Owyhee Corner & I went to Nyssa with Bishop Stoker to leadership meeting. Kay went up to Claudias & I called him at 3:45 from Skinners & he came & got me. I rode home with Montgomery's. Came home & Gail was here & we played penochle. Ray popped corn & Dean made punch.

Gene did chores & Kay, Gene, Ray & Dean went to church.

Gail left at 8:30 & Ivard went to bed until time to go to work at 10:. I made him a lunch & Dale & I watched T.V. I went to bed when Ivard went to work and so did Kids.

We got up late & ate & Ray did up work. about 11: Ivard and I went to Nampa so Ivard could mark up on another job, got cut off. goes to work at 11: now. got a few groc. & exchanged my Xmas house slippers in Caldwell & came home.

Ray walked over to Nancys & played with Earl, got home about dark.

I washed some clothes

Ivard & Kids watched ball game all afternoon

We had sandwiches for supper & punch.

Ray made carmel corn before he went over to Earls, sure good.

Blue Sky & sun & south wind. sure nice though.

we got up at 9: & Gene had chores done & they played Monoply. I got turkey on & cranberry, jello salad made & made waffles & hot cakes for breakfast which they ate at 11:30. Gail & Lynda came & left Debbie to play & took Ivard, Gene & Ray over to Homedale bowling.

Ray did dishes & scrubbed floors & I got books up & made dressing.

We ate whent they got home from ball practice at 6:, they went at 2: when they came from bowling. We played penochle all afternoon. After we ate Gail left to Widmen's.

Thursday, December 25, 1958

Jerry called from Canada, his Xmas present from mission president.

Ivards day off.

Gail came & woke us up at 6:30 & we opened presents. Jackie was so excited with the tree & her presents. Got 3 dolls, buggy & tryke 2 sets dishes ect.

We all had a real good Xmas then Jerry called & we all talked to him, it was so clear. I cooked breakfast & we ate & they played games & I went to bed, I had such a head ache. Gail went over to Garners for dinner. We had hambergers & punch at 4:30. I worked on books & Gene did chores. Kay got ready & took Claudias present over & took her to Xmas dance at Nyssa & Fran & Bob. He went over to Hammonds awhile this afternoon. wonderful day & night.

We watched T.V. until 12:30 & just turned lights out when Kay came.

I don't go back to work until Jan 5. I came home from work & changed & dashed over to church to breakfast for Seminary students & parents. Kay - Gene & Ivard were there & everyone had eaten but then fixed me a good one then we had a meeting. Came home at 10:30 & Ivard & I & Kay & Gene went to Caldwell & got groc. & finished shopping. Came home & ate & Ivard went to work & I laid down awhile.

I helped Kids wrap presents & Dean & Dale went to bed & I went to bed with Jackie & Kay - Gene & Ray got big Xmas tree in & decorated it & they went to bed. Kay & I went to Parma at 5: & got a poinsetta Stella wired us. & a couple of presents.

Gail & Lynda & Debbie got here while I was asleep at 10: Ivard got home & we played Santa. & went to bed at 2:30 A.M. rained all night.

Tuesday, December 23, 1958

Ivard won 15 lb. Turkey from Lyons Club.

Simplot gave us big turkey dinner this morning.

I came home from work & went to bed until noon. Ivard left for work at noon. I got ready & went to relief society party and droped Kay & Gene off at high school to practice. I came back at 3:30 & sat & waited until 4:25 for Gene, Kay had just started practice. Ray had supper ready & we ate & Gene did chores and we all went over to church to Xmas programe. I had to got to Adrian & got Kay from practice at 6:30, I was laying down.

Ivard spent all morning cleaning 2 turkeys, one for us & one we took up & sold Averys (In Woolleys).

We got home at 10: & I laid down for jr. then went to work, just our pkg. line tonight. raine & was g=foggy. Ray scrubbed & cleaned house.

Monday, December 22, 1958

awful foggy comeing from work. I changed my bed & washed it & Ivard made it while I sorted clothes. Jackie vomited in my bed, had to wash bed spread & all. I went to bed & Ivard washed a batch & I got up at 2: & washed 2 more batches & took Ivard to Adrian to get pick-up & he went to work. I brought Dean & Dale home, they are out for holidays.

A beautiful warm, sunny day.

Ray stayed to decorate & Kay went to Caldwell to pick up his corsage.

I got supper & went & got Ray & Kay came & we ate & at 7:45 I took Ray Dean, Dale & Jackie & went over to Adrian to school Xmas programe, it was really good. Gene went ward teaching & came home with us. Kay took Claudia to Xmas formal. went to work at 11:, foggy.

Sunday, December 21, 1958

Came home from work & laid down until they ate then I got ready & we all went to Priesthood & sunday school, it was Xmas programe, Dean & Dale were on it.

We came home at 12: & I cooked dinner and went to bed at 2: & Ivard left for work at 3: & Kay slept all afternoon. I woke up about 5: & Ray made pop corn & I had some & went back to bed until time to go to work.

Gene did chores & Kay - Gene and Ray went to church. I went to work at 11: & it was so foggy we could hardly find road. Passed Ivard down by orchard on his way home.

Saturday, December 20, 1958

It was so foggy comeing from work. I went right to bed & got up at 11:30 & Kay & I went to town & did his Xmas shopping. Ivard, Dean & Dale took my white face to Caldwell sale & did their Xmas shopping. They were home when we got home at 2: Ivard ate and left for work at 3: I took Kay & Gene to Adrian at 4: to go to Jordan Valley to play ball.

Ray milked & bathed & did his dishes but never cleaned floors.

Kids got home from Jordan Valley at midnight, won both games.

Friday, December 19, 1958

I came home from work and went right to bed & Ivard put a pork roast on to cook & him & Jackie went to Wilder & got stuff for Wall plug & put it in for T.V. & put a light outside on back porch.

I woke up at 1:30 & couldn't sleep so I washed some clothes & helped Ivard fix veg. & we ate when Kids got home from school. I laid down until 7: & got up took Kay to Adrian to ball game. Ivard Gene & Ray went at 6:15. J.V.'s got beat 30 to 48 by Fruitland. Varsity won 42 to 38. Kay only made 4 points, he was sick.

I came home from work & went right to bed. I got up at noon & Ivard went over to school & got Ray to come home & tend Jackie & we went to Nampa & had dinner at Harmony Cafe, "Prawns," then we went to Boise & traded in Gold Strike books & did some shopping then we came to Caldwell and got our layways out & had gift wrapped. It rained hard on us all the way home & all evening. It was 8: time we got home & I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work and went to bed and Ivard tended Jackie. Before I went to bed we wrapped Jerrys & Lyles Xmas pkgs & Ivard & Jackie went to Parma & mailed them.

Today was my 24th wedding anniversary & Ivard forgot & I didn't remind him.

I worked on books & washed clothes.

I cooked supper & we ate when I got back from getting Kids from Primary & Kay from practice.

I got up & Got Kids off to school, clock was hr. slow & Kids missed seminary. Ivard did chores & I changed all the beds & sorted clothes & washed sheets then we went to Boise to take Gold Strike Stamps but they didn't have what I wanted went to Caldwell & had dinner & did some Xmas shopping & went to bank & got Ivard new shoes. came home at 2: & Ivard fed cows & left for work

got a new new tire on car.

I washed 2 more batches of clothes & got books up.

When Ray came he made beds & cleaned bed rooms. We ate after Gene did chores & Kay got home.

I went to bed at 7:30 until time to go to work.

I got up & fixed breakfast & Kay & Kids went to sunday school. Ivard couldn't go, grinder guy came just as Kids were leaving.

I cleaned up - read paper & made meat loaf & got dinner ready.

We ate & Ivard went to work & Kay went to play practice then up to Petes, got home at 7: & took Gene & Ray to church.

Ray made pop corn & I wrote to Jerry.

I didn't go to church, Jackie has such a cold. She coughed all night, about wore herself out.

I came home from work and went to bed & Ivard fixed the Kids breakfast.

Gene loaded pick-up with corn for grinder.

Gene milked early & him & Kay went to Ball game. They played at Wilder. J.V. won 32 to 17. Gene made 7. Varsity won 64 to 40. Kay made 18 pts.

Got letter from Louie & Alv. had Stroke Tuesday & is paralized on one side & can't talk.

I came home from work & went to bed & Ivard & Jackie went down to Stokers & took Ray to go to mountains after Xmas trees for 2 days with scouts then they went over to school & got Kay & took him to Nyssa & he got his drivers licence. They came home at 11: & got me up & we went to Caldwell & got groc. & Kays sweater at cleaner & a cake for him tonight & went to Nampa & got Jerrys watch. came home & I laid down awhile then fixed supper & we ate and all went to Adrian to first basketball games. J.V. beat New Plymouth 22 to 13 and Gene made 5 points. Varsity won 50 to 32 & Kay made 11 points.

I came home from work & went to bed and slept all day. got up after Kids got home and got supper on to cook and worked on my books.

I came home from work & went to bed & Ivard & Jackie took a calf to sale. Ivard came home & got Jackie to sleep & left for work at 1:30. Went back to sale to get his money. got a case of oil for pick-up & car.

I got up & washed a batch of clothes.

Ray fixed supper and I went to Adrian & got some groc.

Rained tonight

We ate when Kay came, right after I got home, he'd been to Nyssa to play ball & got beat.

Gene did chores & went to dance practice whene Kay went to play practice.

Simplot Soil Builders blew up & there was big fire. used up water so every had to go home at 3:30 A.M. but our line. Phil got his back broke (electrician).

I came home from work & went to bed. Ivard took Kay - Gene, Dean & Dale & went to Nyssa to Stake Conference. Ray stayed home & tended Jackie & had had dinner ready when they got home. We ate & Ivard & I went to bed. Ivard went to work at 3: & I got Jackie to sleep.

Ivard cut Kids hair and Gene plowed his corn field below dike ditch.

Ray scrubbed & cleaned house & got dinner & I got up & ate.

After dinner Kay went over to school to play practice & cop gave him a ticket for no adult driver with him. he came home at 4:15 & Ray & I went to Parma & paid phone & Ray did his Xmas shopping.

Duaine borrowed pick-up & Ivard went to work in his at 3: came home from Parma & went to bed until time to go to work & Kids ate & watched T.V.

I came home from work & made jellow for relief society banquet & went to bed. got up at 1: & Ivard took off for sale & I got Jackie to sleep.

I made a kettle of potatoe soup and Ivard came home at 5: & him & Gene & Jackie ate. At 5:45 Ray, Dean Dale & I went over to church to banquet & bizzar. I had charge of corn, heating & serving it. had a good turkey supper. I bought a couple of rugs, 2 dresses for Jackie a apron & pillow cases. Came home at 9: & laid down until time to go to work. Kay was to play practice.

I came home from work & we went to Caldwell and paid gas & laid away some Xmas presents. Came home at noon & washed some clothes & went to bed.

Ivard tended Jackie.

I got up at 4: & made 2 pumpkin pies for Ivard, Kay & Gene to take to foot ball banquet. I made 2 lemon pies and Ray fixed them some supper & I had a piece of pie & went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & ate & we went to Adrian & got the pick-up then Duaine came & borrowed it until tomorrow & left Ivard his car. came home & went to bed at 10: got up at 2:30 & fixed Ivards lunch & he went to work.

I got books up.

I made spagetti for supper and went to Adrian & got kids from Primary, had to waite nearly an hr., they ran out of gas. got Kay from ball practice.

We ate & I started to take Gene & Ray over to Orchard to go to Mutual but Kids came after Kay to go to play practice so they rode with them. Jesse brought them home.

I came home from work and went to bed & Ivard got me up 11: & I took him to Adrian to get pick-up & Jackie and I went on over to relief society work day. had good dinner and candy demonstration & I finished my pillow slips for bizzar. came home at 4:30 & went to bed & Ray fixed supper.

I got up & took Kay & Gene over to church to Seminary. Came home & got Kids off to school.

Kay & I went over to Adrian after breakfast & I got envelope & weighed my story to mail. I came home & iorned until 2: Ivard & Kay watched T.V. Gene went over & finished picking Guys corn & Ivard went over & ate & brought picker home & went & picked Toms. Tom give Gene $28. for chores & I took him to town & he did all his Xmas shopping. Tom give us $100. for doing corn & his hay. We came home at dark & Ray had house cleaned.

We ate and Kay went over to school to senior breakfast & play practice & Ivard and Gene went up & fixed tractor tire on then Gene went over & started picking Guy Jones corn and I took Ray selling cards, he sold all but 2 boxes.

We came home and ate & Gene did chores & Kay & Claudia took Gene & Ann Newman to school dance they took Ray over to church first & he went to show with sunday school class. We watched T.V. & I worked on relief society bizzar pillow cases.

I got up at 7: & put Turkey on & made waffles for breakfast. Ivard & Kids went out & worked around. At noon Ivard, Kay, & Gene went to Boise to B.J.C Tyler Texas foot ball game. & got home at 5: I spent all day copying my story to mail True Experience $15,000 contest. I made dressing, candied yams, & gravey when Ivard came & we ate at 5:30.

Gene did chores and Bob & Fran came and took Kay & Claudia over to Stake dance. Ivard & Kids watched T.V & I went to bed early. I was tired from writeing all day.

We had to work over 10 min. we are off for next 5 days. sure cold.

Came home from work & Ivard helped me get stuff ready & I made 4 carrot puddings and we went over to Adrian & got a sack of flour & groc. & Ivard left early for work to get tractor tire repaired & pick-up oil change & greese job.

Jackie & I went to bed & had nap then I got up & made 3 pumpkin pies & 2 shells & Gene helped me make cranberry jello salad.

Dean & Dale had D.P.T booster shot

I came home from work & helped hold Turkey while Ivard killed him then went to bed & Ivard cleaned him, dressed out 24 lbs.

I got up at 1: & Jackie & I went to relief society & Ivard rode with us & got pick up from school & went to work. I picked Kids up after school & Dean & Dale had sore arms from shots, I forgot to take Jackie.

no frost on windshield this morning or fog. I came home from work & ate a little & went to bed & Ivard came to bed awhile, he got up at 10: & tended Jackie & they went to Parma & pd. lights. I got up at 12:30 & we went to Adrian & got pick-up & Ivard left for work early to go to bank & see about tractor tire.

I came home from work & Kay wasn't home from milking Gale's cows yet. He came home & got ready & took Dean & Dale & went to school, they were late & it was foggy too.

I spent until 1: writeing my story for True Story Contest then Jackie & I went to bed until Kids came from school.

I got up & cooked supper & we ate when Kay got home from ball practice then he took Gene with him to help do Gale's chores then Puch came & he went over to Hammonds & watched T.V.

I went to bed utnil time to go to work & Ivard came just as I got up so I drove to work. going to Idaho Falls there was a pick up followed them for miles, right behind them & they hit a patch of fog & when they came out the pick up didn't. a train hit it & killed both guys & Ivard never even heard or saw it

Ivards day off.

Ivard left for Idaho Falls Temple for 2 days at 6 A.M. I stoped in office & got family groupe Ins. got home at 9:15 Dean stayed home with Jackie today & cleaned up house.

I ate & went to bed until 2:30 & got up & made potatoe soup for supper & washed 3 batches of clothes.

Sunny & warm today. Gene got off bus at Duaines & brought Tractor & corn picker home, had flat tire & had to leave it up by Dills.

Dale didn't come home from school, went down to Stokers Kay & Gene went & got him on way home from milking Gale's cows. Gene didn't have to do Toms.

Gene drove Pick-up to Adrian after Kay & I went with him.

I came home from work & went to bed & Ivard & Jackie went to Nyssa to have President Child sign Temple recomend. I got up at 1: & got ready & Jackie & I went to relief society. I gave my Lesson today, traded with Ethel Stoker because she is in beets. came home at 4: & got Kids at school & came home & Ray, Jackie & I went selling cards came home at 6:30 & got supper & Kay went down to Gale's to see how to do their chores while they are gone to Temple.

He came home & we ate & Gene did Toms chores & Ray did ours & Kay & Gene went over to school to dance practice, Conklins came & went with them.

I got up & took Kay & Gene to Seminary went after Conklin, then he didn't go. Came home & little Kids missed bus & I had to take them to Adrian came home & sorted clothes & washed 5 batches of clothes during day.

I wrote letters until noon.

Ivard went over to Tom Ashbys at noon & picked up 4 or 5 sacks of potatoes, half froze. I fixed his lunch & dinner & he went to work at 3: I worked on my relief society lesson for tomorrow.

We had supper when Kids came from ball practice & Gene did Toms chores then came home & did ours.

I went to bed until time to go to work.

Gene did chores & we all got up & ate & went to priesthood & sunday school. Ivard got a recomend after to go to temple on his days off. Kay got one to get a patrical blessing. got home at 1:30 & got dinner & Ivard left for work at 3:

I spent all afternoon writeing to Bill, Berniece & Jerry.

Gene did chores and we had a dish of peaches out of deep freeze. Kay had a nap all afternoon & Pete came & got him & they went to church. Gene, Dean & I went to church & Ray, Dale & Jackie went to bed. I waited after then Pete brought Kay home.

They ate breakfast & I got up after Ray got floors scrubbed & work done up and fixed Kays birthday dinner & frosted him a cake (angle food) I bought We had spagetti & baked squash & frozen peas & cake & sherbet We ate at 2: & Ivard left for work at 3: he cut pig, took cans up & fixed fence all morning, & Gene. Kay had a nap. He got pr. pajamas, black orlon sweater shirt, Shave lotion, & tooth powder & cherry choclates. I washed my hair & Kay, Ray, Dean, Dales & Jackies. Ivard cut their hair &, Jackies too, this morning. Washed 3 batches clothes.

I came home from work & went to bed and just got to sleep & Ivard let Jackie wake me up so I got up and we went to Nampa & got Ivards check & paid pick up then went to Caldwell & got groc. & went to bank & got Kay some birthday presents

It was 4: when we got home from town so I fixed shrimp salad, cottage cheese & stuff & strawberry short cake and we ate right after Kids got home and I went to bed until time to go to work.

It started to rain at 6:45 A.M & rained hard until we got home from work. rained on & off all day. I ate some toast & went to bed & Ivard tended Jackie all day. I got up when kids came home from school but I'd been interupted quite a few times. made barbacue & fruit cocktail for supper. We ate & Gene went & did Toms chores & Ivard did ours. I went back to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work so cold. I ate & went to bed & Ivard & Jackie went with me to get me warm. I woke up at 1:30 & Jackie was asleep Ivard had just put her to bed, & he came to bed for awhil. He got up at 2: & got cows in & went to work. I got up at 3: & washed 2 batches of clothes and put supper on, we had stuffed peppers out of locker. He got up & got cows in & went to work at 3: I got up at 4: Jackie woke up & got me up.

Got up when Kids got home at 4:30 & Ivard came home & we ate & Gene did Toms chores & Ivard did ours & Kay took car & went & got Claudia for foot ball game. Ivard, Gene & I went in Pick-up.

Adrian's last game of year, Beat Marshing 55 to 0 to win S.R.V.B. championship. Kay made 4 T.D but only 2 counted. He made a 95 yd. run & referees blew whistle, thought Hatch had ball & had been tackled.

I got up & took Kay & Gene over to Seminary then came home & cooked little Kids breakfast & they went to school and I cleaned up & started to iorn but didn't get much done, Ida came relief society teaching & the guy from Parma came out & fixed my washer & dryer. The guy came out & fixed corn picker & Ivard got tractor fixed & already to start picking neighbors corn tomorrow. We went up & voted then I had a bath & Ivard got Jackie ready & we went to relief society & he went to work. Came home & finished iorning & Ray got supper. I went to Adrian & got Kay & Gene went down & did Toms chores then he did ours & Gene & I went over to school & Gene was initiated into F.F.A. came home at 9:30 & went to bed until 11: & went back to work tonight.

I got up & took Kay & Gene over to Seminary & came home & got little Kids off to school. Ivard & Jackie went up to Hickmans & got eggs & ate then they went to Nampa to see about getting corn picker fixed & I iorned all morning, washed 2 batches of clothes.

I made waffles & we ate & Ivard & Gene loaded their weiner pigs, Ivard 3 & Gene 3 & the 3 of us went to Caldwell to sale. got $40. apiece. got some meat & came home at 1:30 & Ray fixed dinner & we ate & Dale & I took Ivard to work & went shopping, got Dale a new coat. we went to "Harmony" Cafe & had supper "Prawns" & then we went to show & saw "Big County" pretty good. Went up to depot & went to rest room then went over & waited for Ivard. Dale & I both went to sleep. Ivard got off at 11:30.

Gene milked for Tom.

Kay came home early. Ray tended Kids.

I came home from work, we are laid off for 4 days, and we ate and I washed some clothes then about 10: we went to Nampa & got Ivards check & Paid car & tractor & got some groc. then we went to Caldwell & got Jackie's birthday cake & some groc. & came home & left them & went on over to Nyssa & watched the grade school beat them. got some more groc. & came home & made chilli & when Kids got home from school we had Jackies birthday supper & presents. Gene did Toms chores & Ivard did ours & Kids went Trick-0r Treat ing while I took Kay to Adrian to go to play ball then I laid down until 7: then Ivard, Gene & I went to Fruitland & saw game, won 5 to 12, Kay made 2 T.D. sure cold. came home & went to bed at 11: I was dead

I about had a wreck in fog down by apple orchard comeing from work. some guy ran me off the bridge & went in hole but I backed out.

We got laid off at 3:45 A.M, broke down so I was home in bed by 4:15. I got Ivard up at 8:30 & changed all the beds & washed 4 batches of clothes & cleaned off my dresser & T.V. & washed the flowers and studied my relief society lesson had a bath & at 1:15 Ivard took Jackie & I over to school & we got car & went to relief society & he came home & went to work, Picked corn all morning.

I gave my lesson & stayed after & practiced with singing mothers, came home & got clothes in & put away & another batch washed & Ray & I made beds then I went to Adrian & got Kay. Ray fixed supper & Kay took Gene down to do Toms chores then they ate & Gene did ours & Kay went to P.T.S.A. & I went to bed, until time to go to work.

I came home from work & we went to Nampa & Ivard marked up after his vacation. got groc. & went to Bank in Caldwell. came home & Ivard went down & picked a load of corn & broke something & went down to Calahans & had it welded. We got up at 4:15 A.M & had breakfast and Lynda & Debbie took us to Salt Lake to U.P. depot & we caught the train for home. I wrote Jerry a letter & mailed it air mail from Ogden so it would be waiting for him when he got to Canada.

We changed trains at Pocotello & after we got on other train we had dinner in diner $6. includ. 50c tip. Ivard & I had halibut & Kids had hamberger Steaks. We got to Nampa at 4:05 & got in car & come home. I put clothes away & got supper & when Kay came we ate & I went to bed at 8: & Kay went over to school to dance practice.

I went to work at 11:15, had to waite for Kay to come home with car.

Jerry left for Canada

Dean got up at 3: AM & went on milk route with Gail. We got up at 6:30 & had breakfast & at 7:30 Ivard, Jerry & I left for Salt Lake. We just backed out on road & car stoped on us so Jerry hoped on bus & we called Jim & he came & got us started & we went over to his station & worked on it. We got to town at 9: & had to waite until 10: for stores to open. Cold wind & it snowed until hills were white. We went shopping & got Ivard underwear & Jackie pants (11 pr) sweaters skirt, hat & gloves for her birthday & Dean & Dale gloves. got Jerry 3 more ties & got his suit out of alteration & some books & things at book store & got his new glasses. then we went out & saw Fat & he gave Jerry a $50. check. We went over & saw Louie where she works & saw Olive & had a milk shake then went to Salt Lake & got Jerry's suit & back to Gails & Lynda had dinner ready & we ate & packed Jerry things & at 3:15 we left for Salt Lake to see Jerry off. Ruth & Ray came & Annie & Stella. Jerry about missed train, forgot to register his ticket & they paged him just as train was leaving, they waited. We went up to Stellas & had a nice supper & was back out to Gails at 8: I packed & we went to bed by 9:

Gail didn't have to work today. We ate late & I had a bath & we all got ready & went down & saw Sara & Fat awhile then we left Kids there & Ivard & I & Gail & Lynda went to Salt Lake awhile & visited with Jerry then we went & had dinner, Smorgesberg. Went & got Kids & Gail & Lynda stayed & tended them home & Ivard & went back to Salt Lake to Assembly Hall on Temple Sq. to the missionary Testmonal from 5: until 8: there were 265 missionarys & about 80 got to Jerry bore his. It sure was good meeting. We went up to mission home & Jerry checked out & got his things & we went out to Irvins & Ivard went on up & got Gails & Kids. Irvin, Annie & Louie had a farewell for Jerry. quite a few came, Ruth & Ray. Jerry got $72. We went up to Gail about 10:30 & went to bed. Jerry stayed with us tonight for last time.

Dean got up at 3: A.M & went on milk route with Gail. I called Berniece & Ruth Tovey & Ruth Cleverly.

We were going to go meet Jerry at 11:30 when he got off but Gail had truck trouble & didn't get home with car until afternoon. We had dinner & all went down to Irvins store & got groc. & left them while we went to Salt Lake to find Jerry. finally found him on street at 4: & we went & bought his garments & 2 ties & a another 2 pants suit & left it for alteration. Jerry had to be up to Mission home at 6: for banquet & we went out to Irvins store & got groc. & Ivard talked with Sherm until they closed up & we went over & visited Ruth, went home & ate late & went to bed.

I came home from work & finished packing & fixed a big lunch & got ready & at 10: Ivard & I, Dean, Dale & Jackie drove up to Nampa & parked the car & got on train at 11:45 for Salt Lake. Ivard went over town & about missed it.

We ate most of our sandwiches. We had to change trains at Pocatello.

I slept most of the day I was so tired & not much sleep all week. My ankles are swelled up so bad from no rest.

We got to Salt Lake at 10:05 P.M. & I was just going to call Gail when here he came & Lynda & Debbie. We went out to Centerville to Gails & had a snack & went to bed.

I came home from work and washed clothes and made out all the payments & mailed them & dampened down 20 pieces & Ivard went to work & Jackie & I went to bed. I got up when Kids came home & made a meat loaf to leave for kids & Ray got supper. I did my iorning & got all packed but my & Ivards stuff.

I went to bed about 9: & got up at 11: & went to work. I got Kids clothes all laid out for in morning & Ray polished their shoes.

I came home from work & got ready & we went to Nampa & got Ivards check & he tended Jackie & Pd. pick-up while I went to Pecock & had a hair cut, set & color shampoo. We stoped in Caldwell & got groc. & came home & I fixed Ivards lunch and he went to work. Jackie & I went to bed at 3: & I got up at 5:30 & went to Adrian & got Kids from Primary & Kay from Foot ball practice. Came home & Ray had supper ready & we ate & when Gene got chores done he ate & him Kay & Ray wet to Mutual.

I came home from work & washed a batch of clothes & hung out one I washed last night then sorted 2 out & Ivard did them while I was asleep.

I got up at 12:30 & hung out clothes & had a bath & Jackie and I went to relief society went up to Farrs after & got my 3 new pr. underwear I ordered & got groc. in Adrian & got Kay from foot ball practice.

We ate and I went to bed and Kay took Gene over to Adrian to play foot ball with J.V. They beat Marshing 26 to 0. Gene made 1 T.D. Ray went & went over to church to practice with Claudia. Kay ran scor board. They just got home in time for me to go to work at 11:

sent Gail a note about his car payment.

Ivard & Jackie came & got us from work & while Ivard finished chores I hung out clothes I washed yesterday & washed another batch while I towed Ivard to Nampa to get pick-up fixed, a new fuel pump I guess. Jackie & I came home at noon & Ivard stayed with pick-up & will go to work from there. I hung out another batch of clothes & washed 3 more batches. Jackie went to sleep in car so I didn't move her & I couldn't go to bed either. I changed all the beds & made my bed & Jackies & put clothes away.

I made potatoe soup for supper & we ate when bus came, Kay came on bus tonight.

I went to bed at 6:30 until time to go to work.

I came home from work & went right to bed & Ivard got me warm I was froze. All the kids went to Priesthood & sunday school & Ivard tended Jackie.

I got up at at 1: & fixed dinner & we ate & Gene, Jackie, Dale & I took Ivard to work at Nampa. Came home & read last 3 days papers, washed a batch of clothes & got books up & put away clothes washed yesterday.

Kay went to church alone, he had to talk. I was supposed to be up to Nampa at 10: to get Ivard & Kay went to Fireside & never got home until 10:15 so I watched show & waited for riders, dumped them off & went to Nampa. I was 10 min. late for work.

I laid down an hr. but didn't sleep. sure nice day.

Gail went home - Jerry left for mission home in Salt Lake

I came home from work & ate & Ivard & I, Jackie & Dale took Jerry to Nyssa & he got rest of his shots then we went on to Caldwell & he got his suit & overcoat & 2 ties then we went to Nampa & Ivard marked up to work on his day off today. We came home at noon & Ray had dinner ready but had burnt roast & carrots. I helped Jerry pack & Gail & Lynda came & we ate & at 3: Ivard left for work & at 3:20 Gail left for home in Utah & Jerry went with them to Enter mission Home Monday.

I went to bed & Ray & Dean did dishes & work.

Kay was gone over to Petes when I got home from work & got home about 10: tonight.

I got up at 11: & went to work.

Pick up stoped on Ivard again & some guy pushed him home west of Wilder.

I came home from work & fixed grape juice & put in freezer & went to bed & Jerry washed & cooked rest of grapes.

I got up at 1: & got ready & Ivard Jackie & I went to Homedale to foot ball game. We won 14 to 6. Kay made 7 points & really played a good game. We went to Adrian & got Gene, Kay went with Puch & came home & got pick-up & went to birthday party on Stanley.

Jerry went to work at Simplots for his last time. Came home & made Barbacue & fixed rest of grapes & put in freezer. got 23 qts juice & 10 qts jam pulp.

I went to bed & got up at 11: & went to work.

I came home from work & ate & when Ivard got chores done we went up by Simplots & towed Pick up & started it, it stoped on Ivard there last night comeing from work & he left it & rode home with Jerry. He came home & Jerry & I went to Caldwell & laid away some Xmas things for Kids & got groc. came home at noon & I went to bed & Ivard listened to ball game & went to work. Gail & Lynda came awhile. I got up at 2:30 & Jerry went to work. I washed & cooked 2 kettles of grapes & went to Adrian & got Kay. Gene did chores & Kids ate & I got books up and went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & got ready & Jerry & I followed Ivard & Jackie to Caldwell after we went to Adrian & got pick up. He was afraid he'd have another flat tire he had one last night again. He got 2 new tires while Jerry & I went & got Jerrys overcoat 2 pants suit & hat $126. We came home at 2: & Ivard went on to work. Jackie lost key while he was getting tires & he hunted all over & finally took door handle off to go & have one made & it was down inside window. Jackie & I went to bed & Jerry went to work. I got up at 5:30 & went to Adrian & got Kay & the kids from Primary & came home & Ray had supper ready. I went to bed & Kay, Gene & Ray went to Mutual & never got home until 11:

I came home from work & went to bed & Jerry got me up at 1:15 & I went down to Ida's & went to opening relief society & social with her. I got a fancy bowl for the only member with a perfect attendance for last year. got car after & took Mrs. Conklin home then I went back to Adrian & got Kay from practice.

Came home & Jerry had supper ready. He was called to work at Simplots & couldn't go because he couldn't find any one to leave Jackie with. Ivard was even late going over afer Dean or Ray but the school kids had gone to Nyssa.

I came home from work & ate & went to bed. Ivard listened to ball game all morning. I got up 1:30 & we took Ivard over to High School & he got pick up & went to work & I took Jerry to Nyssa to get his 2nd shots and over to President Childs & had his recommend signed. got groc. & stoped in Adrian & cleaned the locker out & brought home & put in freezer. Jerry got supper & I got books up.

We went after Kay from practice & got the rest of stuff out of lockers & Pd them off & brought it home & put it in freezer.

We all got up & went to Priesthood sunday school & Fast meeting. Ivard, I, Jerry, Dean & Dale bore our testimony. We came home & fixed dinner & ate & at 2:30 Ivard left for work & I went to bed.

Kay took off in car & in a little while he was back & Pete came & got him & they were going to show but Jerry & I went to church & Kay called me out on phone & said to come & get him on way home from church at Hammonds. Jerry gave a short talk.

We came home at 9:30 & I went to bed. Ivard got home at 10:30. I got up at 11:15 & went to work. I didn't have to be there until 12:30.

I got up & fixed breakfast & we ate & Lyle & Barbra came on their way home to Cal. Lyle has to be to work at 11:30 tonight. They left at 9: I took Jerry over to Nyssa to get his shots & Dr. Huges had gone hunting & never let us know. We got groc. & came home & Ray scrubbed floors & cleaned bed rooms & we washed clothes.

Ivard got bumped & took a 3:30 Job with Friday & Sat. off.

I made soup for supper & we ate & I took Gene over to Le Salters to do his chores. We came home & Jerry had little Kids bathed & ready & I got ready & we all went over to church to Jerrys Farewell. bad night, deer hunting. wasn't too many there but he had a nice programe Ivard & I & Jerry had to talk. He got $154. some guys gave 10. & Mr. Bishop gave 25. Came home & went to bed. Gail was hunting.

I came home from work & went to bed & Lyle & Barbra came & left Kids & they finally woke me up makeing so much noise. I got up at noon & washed some clothes. I have the next 2 nights off.

Jerry left for work at 3:10 & he got laid off tonight.

Lyle came from town & stayed awhile then left Stanley & went up to Metcalfs

I made hamberger balls & noodles for supper.

Lyle came back & got Stanley & stayed awhile. Gail was supposed to come over but they didn't.

I went to bed early I was so tired.

Ivard & Kay got home about 10:30, Adrian got beat by Joseph 14 to 7. They stayed up there all night last night. Ray washed wood work.

Lyle came to see Jerry

I traded Gail the Pick up for his car to drive to work.

I just drove in yard from work & here came Lyle, Barbra & Kids. They came up to see Jerry before he left. They stayed for awhile then went up to Metcalfs. & I went to bed about noon. I got up at 2: & Jerry went to work at 3:10. Lyle & Barbra came back down after Kids came from school & had waffle supper with us. Ray did dihes and Gene did the chores. Ivard left at 1: for Joseph with load of ball players.

We played the Cross Out safeway cards with new numbers for this week. Ivards day off

Before Ivard left this morning we all took a ride over to Adrian in Lyles new car & Lyle drove our Pick-up home so Ivard could go to work.

Gail & Lynda came & Ray popped corn. I laid down about 9: so I could drive to work & they had all gone home when I got up.

I came home from work & made me a toasted cheese sandwich & went to bed.

Ivard changed the wireing out to barn so it wouldn't blow fuses. He rode over with Gail & got pick-up to go to work. He got bumped & floated on 3:30 job today. They brought our new Spark oil heater out and hooked it up and fixed washer & I sorted clothes and washed 4 batches & got socks ready to do in morning.

Jerry went to work with Mrs Bevins.

Gail, Lynda & Debbie came and had supper with us.

came home from work & ate & got ready & when Ivard got chores done we went to Nampa & got his check & Ivards Pendleton Jacket out of laway. then we went to Caldwell to bank, got a few groc. & got Jerry 12 white shirts, 20 hankies, 6 pr. socks & 2 pr. pajamas for his mission at I.D. sale. we came home & Jerry heated Turkey pies for dinner & Ivard & I went over to Adrian & he got pick-up & Dean & came home & him & Jerry went to work & I went over to Relief society. stoped at school on way home & waited for Kay to get done practicing. came home and made Barbacue for supper & at 7:30 I went to bed, I was half dead.

I got up at 11: & went to work.

got Birthday Card & letter from Mother & She said a pkg. is on way, material for dress for me & Jackie

Jerry came in after work & gave me 40¢ & said to buy my supper for birthday.

I came home from work & ate a toast & went to bed & Ivard & Jackie took Jerry to Nyssa & he got his shots then Ivard went to Wilder & got a hair cut. I got up at 2: & we went over to school to get Pick-up but it wasn't there. Kay didn't go to chool today, he took Gene to Senimary & went up to Brewers to do potatoes with letterman club. Ward called & we met Kay at Owyhee Corner & traded car for Pick-up. Came home & Ivard & Jerry left for work.

They finished barn today.

I washed out some wash rags & wrote to Irv. & Louie.

Ray fixed Kids supper & I went to bed & Ray milked. Gene didn't come home after school, they played Nyssa over their & Kay went over & watched (J.V.) & washed car & brought Gene home. I came home from work & went to bed. Jerry put a roast on & they all went to priethood & sunday school & it about burnt up I never stired until they woke me up when they got home at 12:30.

I cooked dinner & Gail & Lynda came & we ate & Ivard & Jerry left for work & Gail went over to Blanchs. Kay went over to Adrian & Ray & Dean did dishes & I wrote letters all after noon. Gene did chores & we all got ready for church & Kay never showed up then about 7: Mrs Hammond brought car home, Kay had gone with Pete some where. We took her home & went to church. I talked to Bishop and he changed Jerrys Testimonial from Frid. to Sat. nite. Ray practiced after & Gene wend in Ward teachers report. Came home at 10: & Kay came right after. laid down & Mrs Stradley woke me up. Talked to Ivard. he was up to work waiting for Jerry

They brought the new deep freeze out & we put it in barn in wash room couldn't get it in feed rrom, forgot stove.

Jerry got call to Canadian Mission

I came hom & went to bed. & Jerry did up work. Ivard baled hay until 12:30 then I got up & we went to Caldwell & put my check in bank then over to Nyssa to see grade school play ball but they weren't there so we got groc. & went to Adrian & saw the last half. They beat Vale for first time 6 to 0., Ray is OK, came home at 2:30 & Jerry had his mission call to Canadian Mission has to be in Mission home Oct. 13. Jerry went to work & Ivard finished baleing hay. I cooked supper & we ate when Kids got home.

Gene milked in new barn for first time tonight.

I wrote to Mother.

Dean stayed home with Jackie & the rest of us went to Adrian to foot ball game. Kay took Pick up. We beat Notus 38 to 0. Kay made 19 points. Came home & laid down half hr. & went to work. Ivards N. off.

I got up & took Kay & Gene over to Seminary & came home & we changd beds & I washed clothes then Ivard, Jackie & I went to Boise & filled federal gas tax refund & saw about a loan to build on. came home & ate & Ivard left for work at 3: Jerry had beds made & bed rooms cleaned.

Jerry got called to work at Simplots on 4: shift so I took him up & came back & fixed 4 pkgs of corn for locker & took over when I went after Kay & Kids from primary. We ate & Gene did chores & Kay, Gene & Ray went to Mutual.

I got called back to work so me & little Kids went to bed early I went to work at 11:10.

I took Kay & Gene over to Seminary & came back & Jerry, Jackie & I went & picked 3 sacks of corn & Jerry husked it while Ivard & I & Jackie went to Ontario & traded the tile we had left in on a new oil heater. got back $183. & the stove will be about 169. they haven't come in yet, be a couple of days.

Ivard went to work & we did corn for locker all afternoon & Kay took it over to locker when he went to birthday party at 7:30 over to Mendezona's on Alan Bennett. They called & said not to come to work tonight so I let Kay take car.

Jerry left at 6: with Duaine & went to sunday school meeting.

Put 127 ears & 6 pkgs corn in locker.

Jerry, Jackie & I got up & took Kay & Gene over to church to Seminary at 7: & went on over to Nyssa & got Jerrys last corn factory check. Came home & made 6 bottles of grape juice & did milk & we went to Nampa to get Ivard, he took pick-up to Dobbs to be fixed right after he got done milking. It needed so much done to it he traded it off on 55 G.M. C. for $750. 98. was Ins for 2 years & 102. carring charges. we got $450. for our old one. He had to have heat gage fixed & it got so late he stayed to work. we had hamberger & Jerry went to bank. came home at 2: & I peeled a bu. of peaches & froze 7 big bowls took them over when I went after Kids from practice. We ate & I got books up then we made 16 grape jam & 9 qts juice.

Kay stayed home & worked on lessons & all the rest of us went to Nyssa to Stake Conference. Jerry had to be interviewed by Antoin R. Ivans at noon for mission & he forgot his papers so we dashed home & got them & left Gene, Dale & Jackie with Kay & Ivard went to work at 4: got bumped off his other job. Ray sang in youth chorus, 125 kids, & it sure was good.

We came home at 4:30 and cooked supper & Gene did chores. I laid down awhile then got up & watched Rod Cameron & Kraft & we all went to bed.

Ivans told Jerry he would hear from them in about 10 days.

Jerry took Ray over to Owyhee Corner at 7: A.M to go over to Stake House to chorus practice for conference & Ivard came up & got me to work. We stoped at Bessie Thomas's & picked a bu. of grapes & came home & I went to bed until noon. Kay worked over to Petersons today & never got home until 11:30 Ray came to Adrian from chorus practice & practiced foot ball & at 1:30 we went & got him & got a few groc. I iorned all afternoon & I finally finished it. Jerry got all the bu of grapes washed & we made 11 qts good juice & put 2 bowls of pulp in ice box for jam & 2 bowls for juice. Ivard went up to Metcalfs & got a bu of tomatoes & cantalope. Ivard & I & little Kids went to Homedale & gleaned around & got a bu of peaches & came home & Jerry had a big bon fire & weinnie roast ready. Went to bed early. I am off next 3 nights & its Ivards night off

I came home from work & went to bed. Kay brought pick-up home and Ivard took him to Nyssa to get his drivers licence, He didn't pass, took him 3 trys to parrell park. Ivard came home & got ready & went over to High School & went to Homedale game with Ward. I got up at 2:30 & put Steak on & scalloped potatoes & Jerry made fruit cocktail & jello salad.

Too windy to bale today.

When Ivard, Gene & Kay came we ate & I went to bed for an hr. Jerry Kay & Gene left at 6: in car to get Kay & Genes girl before foot ball game for Homecomeing dance. Kay took Karen Mitchell & Gene took Barbra Brewer. Ivard & I went over to Adrian to game in Pick-up. sure cold. we beat Middleton 46 to 0. Came home & laid down a hr. & Ivard drove me to work in Pick-up. Brewers brought Gene home. Kay had car & got home at 4: A.M.

Finished mothers letter.

Kay & Gene took car to Seminary today & kept it all day & came home after practice. Gene had to walk up & paint the A. Kids went to school & I washed a batch of clothes and Jackie & I rode to Cartjur junction with Ivard to get the trailer he left there yesterday when he took Rays bull. We came home & Ivard started to bail & broke both needles so he left for work early & got them welded.

I started my iorning, did 50 pieces & haven't done half of them. I washed my hair & Jerry got supper & we ate when Kay & Gene came and I had a bath & went over to Grade school P.T.A. came home at 9:30 & laid down & at 11:35 Jerry woke me up to go to work he forgot & went to sleep. I was 5 min. late.

Wednesday, September 17, 1958

I took Kay & Gene over to church to Seminary at 7: then I fixed 5 qts sliced peaches for locker & took them over to Nancy's & put in hers when Ivard went after the trailer & a calf of Duains then he came over & we loaded Rays bull Ivard took it to sale on his way to work. I had a nap while Jerry moped & cleaned up house.

I washed 2 batches of clothes and this afternoon I started a letter to mother.

Dampened down 2 months iorning. I went to Adrian & got Kids from foot ball practice & Primary while Jerry fixed supper. Kay & Ray went to Mutual, Gene wasn't through chores.

I got up & took Kay & Gene over to church to Seminary. Kids went to school. We changed all the beds & washed 5 batches of clothes. Ivard Jackie & I went over to Ross orchard at Homedale & picked 2 bu. of peaches. Came home and made out payments to mail & Ivard left for work early to pay bills.

I bottled 25 qts peaches, 3 didn't seal & fixed 11 qts for freezer & I took them over & put them in Nancys freezer when I took Jerry over to go to show with them at Parma.

Kay & Gene started Seminary at church at 7:30.

I came home from work, got laid off, and went to bed because they said I might get called back.

Ivard took Jerry to Nyssa to get his physical papers from Dr. for his missionary call. I got up at 2:30 & went over to school & got Dale & took him over to Parma to Thebo to have 2 teeth filled, He sure was good, then out in car he cried because he said his mouth was different, it was comeing un froze. Came home & Jerry had supper ready & at 7: I took Jerry over to Nyssa to Stake House to be interviewed by President Child for a mission. Had a fresh lime-ade after.

Didn't get called to work tonight. went to bed early.

I made it home OK. got laid off. Ivard & all the Kids went to priesthood & sunday school but Dale & he was bawling & got left.

I went to bed for an hr. then got up & cooked dinner & made a cake & had it ready when they got home. We ate and I went to bed & Ivard left for work at 2:30.

I got up at 6:30. Gene did chores & Jerry, Kay, & Gene went to church. Ray played over to Petersons today. I got Kids to bed & worked on my books.

I got called back to work at 9:30 so I laid down awhile.

Ivard was waiting for us when we got off work & we went to Nampa & got belt for baler. Came home & kids had hot cakes ready.

Rained on & off all day. I went to bed. got up at noon & washed 3 batches of clothes, socks. Ivard & Gene work on fence in front of new barn, tore it down.

Jerry went to caldwell with Nancy & Duaine. Ivard cleaned up back porch and all of us but Gene & Ray went to Nyssa & got groc. on harvest sale. Ray did floors & Gene did chores & we ate and all went to bed but Kay & he took car & went to Nyssa foot ball game. Simplots called & said not to come to work then a little later they called & said to come & I had to go alone in Pick-up, Kay wasn't home with car.

I came home from work & went right to bed but still couldn't sleep. Ivard started to bale hay but only did 3 rows when he broke a bolt. I got up at noon and got ready & Ivard, Jerry, Jackie & I went over to New Plymouth to first foot ball game of the season. We won 44 to nothing. Kay made 3 touch downs & a point after. We got drenched the last few min. of game, really rained. stoped in Nyssa & got groc. & had a milk Shake, Picked Kids up in Adrian & came home & got supper, barbacue. I went to bed and Ivard, Gene & Ray went over to Fruitland to ball game. Kay went too but with Mills.

Wind blew so hard Ivard will have to rake hay over.

Ivards night off, he drove me to work I was so tired, Mrs. Stradley rode too.

I stoped to see about corn on way home from work & couldn't get it until 9:30 so I came home & went to bed & ask Ivard to got get it but he said he was too busy then he took off at 11: for work. I couldn't sleep all day but I stayed in bed.

Jerry got supper, fried shrimp good. we ate & I got books up & read paper.

Kay came home with Thompson & ate & worked on type writter.

I went to bed at 7:30 after I finished writeing Gails letter and I still couldn't go to sleep.

I came home from work at 8:30 & Kids were to school. Jerry got ready & Jackie & I took him to Nyssa to Dr. Huges to have a physical for his missionary call. We sat in car & I slept & wrote to Gail, it was so hot. at 12:30 Jerry bought us a limeade & we came home & I went to bed. Ivard raked farthest hill side hay & got half done above house. Jerry fixed him dinner & he went to work with out wakeing me up. Jerry fixed supper while I went over & got Kay & we sat & waited an hr. for Kids from Primary & finally drove over to Camerons & called home & they were home, gone along bottom road. We ate & Gene did chores & Jerry, Kay, Gene & Ray went to Mutual & me & little Kids went to bed.

Tuesday, September 9, 1958

got breakfast & Kids went to school. Ivard did chores & hurt his back carrying 2 cans of milk at once so he went to bed until time to go to work.

I bottled rest of peaches 26 qts

I hung out clothes I washed last night & washed 3 more batches.

Jerry fixed Ivards lunch & I ate a dish of soup with him & he went to work & I laid down & had a nap. I got supper while Jerry & Ray washed more bottles.

Gene did chores

Kay went over to Gibson's to a cottage meeting.

I went to bed at 7:30. but never could get to sleep. I got ready & went to work at 11:, first night back. worked on table.

Monday, September 8, 1958

Jerry went with Duaine to meeting

Ivard left at 7: A.M. to go to get church calf we've had out to pasture all summer. We have to finish fattening it out. Gene did chores & I got breakfast & Kids went to school. Jerry did dishes & I changed all the beds & washed 5 batches of clothes all day. Ivard, Jackie & I went over to Ross orchard at Homedale & picked 2 bu. of peaches while Jerry washed bottles. Ivard & Jerry sacked grain for grinder. I did 6 qts pears, finished them up, then I bottled 27 qts peaches. Ivard took car to work today, left at 1:30 to look for part for pick-up.

I got called back to work at Simplots tonight but couldn't find a way & Ivard never got home until 1:30, worked 1 hr over-time. I called in at 1: & told them I couldn't make it tonight. I went to bed at 8:30 & got ready to go at 11:30 but went back to bed. Kay went to P.T.S.A. in Pick-up.

Sunday, September 7, 1958

Gene did chores and Ivard & all the Kids went to priesthood, sunday school testimony meeting & Jerry had to meet with Bishop after about his mission. It was 2:30 when they got home & Ivard couldn't even eat, he had to leave for work.

I put a roast on & got dinner and bottled 16 qts of pears & washed a batch of overalls. After dinner I laid down & Ray & Dean did dishes & Ray scrubbed Kitchen and Jerry worked on sunday school books & wrote letters.

Pete came & Kay went with him until 10:

We watched T.V. until Kraft was over & I fixed Kids a sandwich & we went to bed.

Saturday, September 6, 1958

got letter from Mother

Ivard milked & Kay & Gene ate & I took them down to Bishops to work in hay. Ray & Dean did last nights dishes and we ate and I got cauliflower ready to take to locker. then Jerry & I dashed to Caldwell & got some more cauliflower & egg plant & sugar on sale & came home & I got the rest of the cauliflower ready & took over to locker, 18 pks & 8 heads & 4 pkgs of egg plant. Jerry made meat loaf & Baked potatoes & fixed cauliflower for supper & I went up to Metcalfs & got some tomatoes & cantalope. Kids were home when I got back & we ate & Gene did chores while Ivard ate then he came in & ate & Ivard did chores.

Ivard cut both fields of hay.

Kids did dishes & we got to bed early.

Friday, September 5, 1958

Got up & fixed breakfast & Kids went to school. Ivard milked. I washed a batch of clothes & got them out & Jerry, Jackie & I went to Nampa & Pd. Ivards job Ins. & got Jackie a pr. of pajamas. went to Caldwell & Jerry bought us a hamberger & drink & we got groc, a bunch of cauliflower to put in freezer. Jerry bought him & Jackie some shoes. We came home & Ivard had washed a bunch of bottles & got tractor ready to mow. at 4: Ivard & I went over to school & got Gene & went to Nyssa & watched high school play foot ball, Nyssa didn't do anything. picked Kay up at school & came home & Jerry had weinnie roast all ready out on lawn. The bon fire felt good it is getting cold. Ivard milked & we all got to bed early.

Gene gave his crutches back today.

Thursday, September 4, 1958

Got Kids off to school & Ivard did chores. Jerry did up dishes & swept & I read a story in my new Red Book then I bottled 8 qts peaches & 16 qts pears. Jerry fixed lunch & Ivard left for work early to get some mower parts, he bid on a different job & has Friday & Sat. off now.

Jerry & Jackie had a nap.

I put soup on for supper & went to Adrian at 6:15 after Kay. We ate & Ray did milking & Gene went out to see that he did it ok. Gene is still on crutches.

Jerry & Dean did dishes & I got books up & we went to bed at 9: Kay is half sick.

Wednesday, September 3, 1958

Jerrys last day at corn factory

no one woke up today and Jerry was late for work when we left home. I got him over there at 7:15. today was his last day. they got through at noon & had a chicken dinner on co. Ivard went & got him at 1:30. I made beds & cleaned up & washed a batch of clothes & bottled 16 qts peaches & got ready to go to town when Ivard got back with Jerry.

Ivard watered & washed bottles for me. Kay got breakfast this morning.

I signed up for unemployment then we took Ivard to Nampa to work & we had root beer & stoped at Albertsons & got groc. came home at 6:15 & was just going after Kids from Primary when they got here. Jerry got supper & we ate & Ray milked & I took him over to Orchard to go to Mutual. I went after him at 9:45. then droped him off & went to Nampa after Ivard. Kay got home at midnight, been to show.

Tuesday, September 2, 1958

I got up & took Jerry over to Nyssa at 5:45. came home and cooked a good breakfast & bathed Kids & got them ready & they went to school. Dale started first grade today. He didn't want me to go with him so he went on bus with Kids. I washed clothes and Ivard checked water & we went to Caldwell to bank & had a hamberger then we went over to Homedale & got 2 bu. of peaches for $1. a bu. came home & Ivard went to work & I bottled 16 qts. peaches. Jerry called at 7:30 & I went & got him & he came home & got ready & went to Sunday school meeting with Duaine.

I went & got Kay & Gene from foot ball practice at 4:30 & Gene was on crutches, sprained his ankle. I cooked supper & we ate & Ray had to milk. Gene went out & sat & saw that he did it. We all went to bed early.

Monday, September 1, 1958

I got up & took Jerry to work at 6:30. I changed all the beds & washed 5 big batches of clothes. I went over to Adrian at 10: with Ivard to take Gene to foot ball practice. I read while we waited. Kay didn't get back from Baker to practice. We went up to Hammonds & got pick-up. Helen Hatch called & said Philip called & said they'd had car trouble. Came home & got clothes in & beds made & Ray washed bottles & cleaned up house.

At 1:45 I took Gene over to practice again & read while I waited. Kay was there when we got there. Came home at 5: & Gene did chores. We went after Jerry at 7:

We were all in bed at 8:30.

Sunday, August 31, 1958

Kay took Kids to priesthood and sunday school. Ivard had to check water. I had to wash some pants for Jerry to work in. Kay brought Pete home to eat. I made waffles, sausage & eggs for dinner. at 1: Pete, Kay & Philip left for Halfway to fair, they are going to stay over night & come back for foot ball practice at 10: in the morning.

Ivard went to work at 3: I took him.

I had a nap, I don't feel very good.

We all got ready & went to church. I drove up by Hammonds tonight & our pick-up was gone, Wilson took it to work. I sure was mad.

I left for Nampa at 10:30 to get Ivard.

Saturday, August 30, 1958

Kays last day at Shed

I got up & took Jerry to work at 6: & came home & took Kay over to Adrian. I washed clothes & at noon I took Ray over to Adrian selling cards. He sold 2 boxes of all occasion & 18 boxes of Xmas. We picked Kay up at 4:30, today was his last day, & we dashed to Caldwell & got Kay shoes & 4 pr. pants & he bought Dale a pr. of shoes. Ray earned 12.50 selling cards & he got shoes & school paper. Kay got a pr. of foot ball shoes. We came home & ate & I took Kay & Gene over to school to foot ball practice & I went to Nyssa & got groc. then went & got Jerry & we had a hamberger & milk shake then went over to high school & waited for Kids to get through practice.

Ivard left for work early.

Friday, August 29, 1958

started our new cinder block barn.

Ivard had the car so Gene & I took Jerry to Nyssa in Pick-up at 5:50. Came home & Gene milked & I took Kay to Adrian. When I got back the guys were here stakeing out the new barn & the cinder block came about 9: & Kids helped unload it. Ivard & Jackie went to bed at 9:30 & I washed socks & rugs & a batch of clothes & got books up. Ray did dishes & work. At 3: Ivard & I & Jackie went over to Ontario & got licence for car & pick-up & had a root beer then we went over to Lawrence & Aftons & visited & had supper. We left at 8: & went to Ontario & got Jerry.

Gene drove pick-up over to foot ball practice, Kay drove it home.

Ivards day off but they called him while we were gone & he missed a 1 1/2 shift.

Thursday, August 28, 1958

Lyle went back to Calif.

Got up & made lunches & took Jerry to Nyssa at 6: A.M. Came home & took Kay over to Shed at 7: Came home & laid down awhile then made waffles & they ate & Ivard & I went to Wilder & decided on plans for barn, they are going to start tomorrow. got groc. & Ivard got hair cut & we came home & Ivard & Gene tore bull pen down to make the barn there & I got dinner on to cook. Lyle, Barbra & Kids came down at 3: & we ate.

I washed 3 batches of clothes.

We played a game of penochle before we ate then after we ate they played foot ball then we played another game of penochle while Gene did chores then we told them good bye & they left for California, after going up to Metcalfs & loading up. Ivard drove Gene to Adrian to foot ball practice & I folowed them & Ivard went to Nyssa after Jerry with me. Came home at 9: & went to bed & Ivard got called to work for 11: its his day off but he signed up to work. Gene came home at 10:30 alone. Kay went to Show.

Wednesday, August 27, 1958

I go up & made lunches & took Jerry to Nyssa at 6: & Kay to shed at 7: fixed breakfast & at 9: I took Dean & Dale over to Orchard to go to Primary. Lyle & Barbra came down all morning. I went after Kids at 11:15. washed a batch of clothes. at 2: Ivard & I & Gene went to Nampa & we left Ivard for work then we went to Caldwell to Jack & Jerrys & had oil change; greese job & wheels packed & new oil & air filters. Gene & I walked up & got Him 2 pr. dennims & his school paper & stuff. I signed up for unemployment. Came home at 5: & Gene milked & I fixed supper & they ate. Lyle came & left Stan & Terry while they went to Boise to fair. at 6:40 Gene drove Pick-up over to the first foot ball practice. I followed right behind & went after Jerry. he never got off until 8: got Kids to bed & laid down until 10: & went after Ivard, he never got off until 12:30

Tuesday, August 26, 1958

I took Jerry to work at 6: & Kay at 7: then laid down awhile. We ate & Ivard & I & little Kids went up to Steels & got 2 bu. of pears & visited Lyle & Barbra awhile then Lyle came home with us & they played foot ball all afternoon. I fixed dinner & washed clothes.

Ivard went to work at 3:

Dale had a bath & I took him over to Dr. Mann for his check up before school & to dentist then we went to Nyssa & had a orange drink & got groc. & went after Jerry had to waite for him until 7: he was going to get off at 6:30 but other guy didn't show up. He came home and got ready & I took him over to Duains to go to Boise to Fair, he took Barbra Tanner. I went after Kay about 9:30.

Monday, August 25, 1958

got up & made lunches & rode to Nyssa with Ivard to take Jerry he had to be there at 5:45 this morning. came home & took Kay at 7: & Gene over to Walt Bishop to work.

Ivard cleaned ditch all morning.

I went to town & cashed the kids checks & put some in savings for them (Jerry, Kay & Jackie) & put some in bank to cover checks I wrote out for Jerry. & got a new tire.

came home & fixed dinner & washed some clothes.

Ivard went to work at 3:

Lyle was down this afternoon Ray went selling cards.

I went after Jerry at 7: & had to waite as usual then Kay was about done so we waited until about 9:30 for him.
