Kay & Gene went to Seminary & Ivard milked & at 8: Mr. Hopkins came over and they moved all our cows, but 2, in two loads over to new place ($20., $1. a cow) I washed clothes all day & dampened down 2 big basket fulls. got books up & wrote an 18 page letter to Jerry.

I iorned 7 pieces for Kay to take to Baker. Then when Kids came from school Ivard, Gene & I brought other 2 cows over & milker & while they put it up & milked I got 20 pieces iorned & hung in closet. we came home & ate, Ray had fed kids & him & Kay had gone to Mutual. got to bed.

Tuesday, February 24, 1959

I laid off the rest of week to move & go to Baker to ball games.

washed clothes and made 3 cherry pies & we took a load of books over in car & bottles. came home at 2: & I went over to school to Deans Room's Mothers Tea. Came home at 4: & laid down a couple of hours & Ray fixed supper for Kids. Ivard & Gene did chores and at 7:30 Ivard Gene and I went over to High school to F.F.A. banquet. It was real nice. ham loaf, corn apple sauce, pickles, potatoes, gravey, spring salad, hot rolls & jelly, tomatoe juice, milk pie & icecream. Came home about 10: & went to bed.

Monday, February 23, 1959

I came home from work & washed at noon Jackie & I went to bed. Ivard took 3 calves & baler over to new place then when Kids came from school they loaded 2 heifers & cultivators & Ivard & Gene & I took them over, first time Gene had see our place, only from car window. He likes it. came home & ate & I went to bed.

Ivard is going to take his other weeks vacation this week so we can move.

Kay went over to Patriarch Burgess & had his patriarchal blessing.

I went to work at 11:15.

Sunday, February 22, 1959

Came home from work & got ready & we all went to sunday school. stoped at Looneys & got groc. & came home & ate & Gail & Lynda & Debbie came & ate with us. they left at 4: & I went to bed & Ivard too. at 7: Ivard & all the kids but Gene, still milking, & Jackie, went to bed with me, went to church.

I got up at 11: & went to work. overtime tonight.

Ivards nite off & his job was cut off anyway for Holidays.

We came home from work & went to bed until 10:15 then at 11: we met at real estate office in Nampa & made the down payment on our new place., $10,000. came home & I went to bed at 2: & Ivard went up to John Thompson's & Ivard went with them, Helen Hatch, Bob & Burdell to Baker & had supper & went to game & saw Adrian beat Halfway 64 to 49, back to their old form. Kay was 3rd high point man with 10, fouled out. They ate at East side on way home & never got here until 3: A.M. Kay came with Miss Burman & was asleep. I listed to game at 9: but never got out of bed until time to go to work at 11:

Friday, February 20, 1959

Had to waite 15 min. out in fog for Ivard to pick me up. Came home & ate & went to bed & Gene tended Jackie. He feels a lot better & got up today. Ivard milked & got an hrs. sleep and at 1: we went to Caldwell to Giggrays office & Mr. Bishop gave us 10,000. on place so we can get our new one. We have to pay Int. on it until Title is clear. at 2:30 we left there for Baker to District Basketball Tourn. Adrian played Jordan Valley & beat them but they still didn't look like themselves. Kay was high point man. We went with Don Brewers & after & bowled 2 games then we came home. stoped at East side cafe in Ontario & had chow meine. Came home & slept an hr. and went to work.

Thursday, February 19, 1959

We came home from work & Ivard milked & I iorned 3 shirts & packed Kays suitcase & took him & Dean to school. came home & washed a batch of overalls & went to bed. Gene is still sick in bed.

Ivard slept 2 hrs & Jackie slept with me. at 3: we went to Caldwell & saw lawyer, (Giggray) then went to Nampa & saw real estate guy & got a few more days on our new place then came & saw Mr. Bishop & he sad he'd advance us $10,000 until title is clear at 5% Int so we can get our place. Ray got supper & Ivard milked & we went to bed until time to go to work.

Adrian left for Baker at 4: P.M. for district tournment. St. Francis beat them 58 to 52 in an overtime. we listened to it broad cast on way to work. Ivard hauled a load of hay.

Wednesday, February 18, 1959

I had to waite 15 min. for Ivard to pick me up. Came home & took Ray to school & Ivard milked.

I changed the beds & washed 5 batches of clothes & fed Gene. When Ivard got chores done we went up & saw Mrs Swigest to see if she knew where T. A. Allen was then we went to Adrian & Ivard got pick-up & got feed & I came home & went to bed with Jackie & got her to sleep then Gene & I helped Ivard load 3 calves & at 2: Ivard & I went to Karcher Junction & took them to sale. Came home & tended clothes & made a tamalee pie for supper & we ate after Kay went & got Kids from primary Mrs. Bullen & Mrs. Conklin came for primary pennies. I slept awhile between town & supper Ivard did chores & Ray & Kay went to Mutual. We went to bed until time to go to work.

We came home from work & I took Kids to school & Ivard went to bed. came back & washed clothes & cleaned up. at 11: Ivard had to get up to get cows in & fix fence so me & Jackie went to bed. at 2: we got up & went to Caldwell to see lawyer & over to real estate at Nampa. got a few groc. & came home & Gene was in bed sick with feaver & sore throat. Ivard had to milk we ate and Kay went over to Hammonds until after midnight Dean was on programe at P.T.A so he went with Cambells. Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Ivard & I went back to work tonight

Wind blew hard then about 10: it started to rain & rained all day.

I gathered up clothes & sorted them & Ivard did chores. Kids bathed & went to school, Kay & Gene left early for Seminary. at 10: we left for Caldwell & stoped at Simplots & got my check & told them I'd be back to work tonight. We went to Nampa & saw Real Estate guy & got Ivards check & he marked up & pd. car & baler & we went back to Caldwell to Bank, got groc. & Ivard went & saw lawyer about our deed to place so we can hurry & settle up our deal then we went to Ontario to Bank where we had our first escrow & to Land Title office to see if we could find out anything about T.A. Allen to clear a flaw in title. Came home & went to bed. Kay went ward teaching.

had letter from Jerry when we got home

We got up about 8: & I got everything packed & helped Berniece get breakfast & we ate & Ray did dishes and Bill & Gene came and Gail & Lynda & Ruth Ray & kids & we had a meeting & Ruth & Ray left then we told mother good bye & we left & Bill & Jean. Berniece was going to stay another day & do Mothers business then take Mother home with her for a few weeks. Gail & Kids followed us. We stoped at Bud's a min. then went to Uncle Wards in Idaho Falls & brought Aunt Vene home with us, gased up & left at 12:30 the roads were covered with snow from before Arco aways to Carry. had to waite an hr. on dugway comeing down to Carry when they tried to towe a transport up the side of mountain (went over Wed) we stoped at Gooding & ate. droped Aunt Vene off in Boise at 8:30 got gas & came home, Gail was laready there. unpacked & got to bed. Kay came home at 9:30. read mail

Dads funeral

We got up at 6:45 & I got breakfast & we did up dishes & cleaned up house & Mother & Jackie had bath & we got ready and at 10:15 the Mortuary brought Dad out & there was a mob to view him. Berniece, Bill Ruth & families never got there until body came & ma felt bad about that. At 1:30 we left & went over to Menan Ward & had a real nice funeral & went out to Ucon Cemetary & burried him. It was cold & snow on ground but sunny. came back to mothers & fixed something to eat & visited awhile, and Bill & Jean left for town with Dick Balderson. about 9:30 Ruth & Ray & kids went over to Minnies to stay & Bill came back & Gail & Lynda went with them over to Buds. Berniece & Ken, Kent, Gene, Ray Dean Dale & Jackie, Mother Ivard & I went to bed.

Friday, February 13, 1959

Bill & Jean stayed to Bud's. Ruth went to Minnies & Berniece went to Motel. Dean & Dale still stayed over to Bud's.

We got up & cleaned up house & ate & Mother & Gene went to have their hair done at 9:30. Ivard did dishes while Jackie & I had a bath & at noon we went over to Bud's & had lunch & got Mother & went to Idaho Falls & Jean followed us & went to visit her mother who was up at her sisters. got me some socks & Kids valentines & went to Bank & got mothers Ins. policies out of safety deposit box & came home about 4:30 Ruth, Ray, Kim, Sharon, Janice & Deane came from Utah & about 5: Gail, Lynda, Debbie, Gene & Ray came from home. We ate & Ray did dishes & Lynda tended Jackie & Debbie & the rest of us went over to Minnies & Berniece, Ken & Kent & Bill just got there at 7: & we went in to Woods Funeral home "chapple in the Pines" & saw dad he looked so natural we were there until 9:30. We stayed to Mothers

Thursday, February 12, 1959

We got up and ate & Minnie & Morley went to work. We did dishes & took mother over to her place, she took it pretty hard, first time back in 2 yrs then alone. We left Dean & Dale to Noras (Budds). I fixed lunch. had a lot of visitors. Jean came over & stayed.

The relief society Presidency came & brought mother a lot of food from welfare.

We boiled steak & ate & did up dishes.

Sidney Mickleson came & we were until 10:30 giving her a life history of Dad to read at funeral.

We were going into funeral home but it got too late. Went to bed at 10:45. Jean slept with Mother

Wednesday, February 11, 1959

We got up & ate and Minnie went over to school awhile and we did dishes. The Bishop came about the funeral.

Minnie came & Jean came over from Bud's & Aunt Pearl & Uncle Bill came & Morley came & we had dinner then Aunt Pearl left & Ivard took Mother, Minnie, Jean & I to Idaho Falls & we went to "chappel in Pines" & saw Dad, they had him in bed & he looked like he was just asleep. I'll never get to talk to him again or he'll never see my girl. We picked out a bronze casket $595. Went & got mother & I a hat came home & ate supper & did up dishes. decided not to take mother home until tomorrow. Nora kept Jackie all day with Dean & Dale & Dean & Dale stayed over all night.

Tuesday, February 10, 1959

I showered & packed & we ate & at 8:30 we went & saw Louie at work a few min, then at 9:15 we left for Idaho Falls in hard cold wind. was snowing when we got to Ogden & we nearly slid into a guy at North Ogden. icy roads clear to Downey, came by Malad. stoped at Idaho Falls & we ate dinner & were out to Minnies at 3:30 & Aunt Pearl & Uncle Bill were there. We ate supper & we went over to Mothers & put coal in stoker, they have her house all cleaned & everything back like it was before came back & at 7: Mother called from Idaho Falls, they were at uncle Wards, brought Aunt Vene from Boise. They came on out. They were so tired. Black ice all the way. roads were closed tonight the way we came & the way they came. We stayed at Minnies & Jean, Robbie Dean & Dale over to Bud's.

Monday, February 9, 1959

snowed another 3 or 4 in. so we decided to stay another day. Lyle put chains on & went back out to Grantsville. We ate & did up work & went over to Irv's store & I got a iorning board cover & Jackie 3 pr. slacks. We had lunch & Ivard went up & had head light fixed & I got Jackie to sleep & got my books up. Ivard came back & had a nap & we went up to see new Albertsons store. We ate supper & at 6: Lyle & Barbra came & Lyle, Ivard Irvin & Terry went over & played ball at 8: Ray called & said Mother was at our place. I talked to her & she sounded so tired & lonely. Lyle talked to her then we told him good bye & he went back out to Berniece's they are leaving for home in morning, have to be back Friday. We went to bed early.

Sunday, February 8, 1959

When we woke up there was about 8 in of snow & it was still snowing. Ivard talked Marv into going to Priesthood, first time since he was a little kid, so he went at 8:45 & took him to Orchard. We all went to sunday school but Barbra & her kids & Sheri. Jackie wasn't so good so Ruth & I brought her home and got dinner on & we ate when all the gus came.

Ruth called & Minnie had called Berniece & Mother was in Spokane & Jean was bringing her to Menan Tuesday & funeral won't be until Sat. We did dishes & went over to Lee & Sybles & ate again and Lyle followed us over & went to Grantsville & got their things. They came back at 9: just as Ivard & I, Ruth & Irv. came from church at South Bountiful. We got back from Lee's just as they were going. Watched T.V.

Saturday, February 7, 1959

We got up & showered & ate & cleaned up & Ivard & I & Dean, Lyle Barbra & Kids went over to Sara's & to Marv's & visited & Lillian & Roy stoped in & said good bye on their way home. At 1:45 I took Lyle, Barbra & Kids back over to Irvins to get their car and Dean got there just in time to go to show with Sheri & Kids. I went to Bountiful and got Jackie a new white fleece coat & 2 undershirts then I went & got Ruth Tovey & we went to Beauty Parlor & had hair cut, color rinse set & shampoo (4.) I took Ruth home & went down to Sara's & she fixed me some soup & sandwich. Ivard & Jackie had dinner there. Donna came & we visited awhile then came back to Irvins & Donna came over & we had hot dogs & did up dishes & Donna & Dean went home & we got kids to bed & played "500," until midnight. Lyle & Barbra went to bed.

Friday, February 6, 1959

We got up & had breakfast & cleaned up and went out to Grantsville and saw Berniece. When we got there, there was Lyle, Barbra and kids, They got here at midnight. We visited and had lunch. We came back to Bountiful at 6: & Lyle came with us and we all went up to Ruth and Rays & visited and had supper. then Lyle left & went down to Irv.'s & put Kids to bed. We went down about 10: & got Kids to bed and Ruth & I stood Irv. and Ivard playing "500". We played until midnight and went to bed.

Ivard & Ray went to ball game & Ruth & I did dishes & visited & Kids played games.

David had a bad cold & had steamer on him all night.

wrote to Jerry & aunt Minnie

We got up & ate & showered & got ready & Donna came & we went over to see Alv. a few min. then we went up to mortuary & saw Wayne. Ruth took Jackie over to her sisters & she brought Dale up with her just before funeral. They had a real nice funeral at 10th ward. After we came from cemetary we went up to Ilene's & had lunch the relief society fixed & visited awhile then we went back over to cemetary. Came back down to Irvins & fed kids & got them to bed & Ivard & Irv. went over to church with Terry to play ball. Ruth & I visited and I had a demonstration on her new Stauffer couch. At 10: we were just going over to get the guys when they came so they took us up to Lee's & we had shrimp supper. Came home & went to bed.

Wednesday, February 4, 1959

Dad died
called Lyle in Cal.

The time Keeper came out at 5:15 & told me I was wanted on Phone, it was Bill, and Dad had died in his sleep. Vanda called Ivard at work & he came at 6: & we went home & I started washing clothes & fixed Dales new pants shorter. Ray stayed home & helped & at 10:30 we went over to Vale to tell Gail & droped Ray off at school. We had dinner & came home, stoped at Petersons & had them get a coursage for Kay for Claudia. Packed & at 3:30 we went to Caldwell & got Dale some new shoes & something to eat & at 4:15 we left for Utah. Ivard drove all the way All the sleep he had was from time we got home from work until we went to Vale. good until we hit Treatmonton & it really snowed but was OK after we left Bear River.

We got to Irvins at 10:45 & Ruth made beds & we got to bed. Poor Mother back there all alone. Bill is flying back today to get her.

Tuesday, February 3, 1959

We came home from work & took Ray & Jimmy over to Prune Orchard to catch the bus. We ate & went to Caldwell & saw lawyer & got rest of our money, left from off place, out of $2000. got 88. to go to Utah. put dimes in savings & went to Nampa & saw real estate guy about our new place. came home at 1: & went to bed & I never woke up until 2: so I couldn't go to relief society. I'm sure sick. Ivard & Jackie got up when Kids came. Ray scrubbed & got supper. I got up after they ate & worked on books.

Ivard got a haircut in Wilder on way to Caldwell.

Ivard cut Kays hair after supper.

I went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & Kay was with Jackie, Ivard was out doing chores. Kay went to school & I gathered up clothes & sorted & washed 1 batch and went to bed & Ivard washed the other two batches & did dishes & tended Jackie after she got up, she went to bed with me.

I got up this afternoon & read mail and did the iorning I had dampened down, 27 pieces. I made a meat loaf & Ray finished getting supper when he came from school and we ate when Kay got home.

Stella called & said Wayne died at 4:30 P.M. from his operation 2 weeks ago.

Ivard, Jackie & I went to bed. Kay went to dance practice.

Ivard & I left for work at 11: Colder.

Gail & Lynda came after we were in bed. They moved to Vale today.

Sunday, February 1, 1959

We all got ready and went to priesthood, sunday school & fast meeting. Ivard, Ray, Dean & Dale bore their testimony. I came home & cooked dinner & we ate & Kay went over to Claudias all afternoon. I went to bed I had such a head ache.

Ray made pop corn & Gene had a nap.

Ivard, Ray & Dean went to church. Ray was on scout programe.

Jackie & I went to bed.

Ivards night off.

I had to go to work at 12:30 so never left until 11:50.

Saturday, January 31, 1959

Ivard came home from work & came to bed. I got up & fixed breakfast when Gene got chores done. I washed clothes. Ivard got up at 1:30 & we took Kay & Gene over to church & left them at dance practice and we went to Nyssa & got a bunch of groc. on sale & picked up Kids at 4: and came home and Ray was just finishing up floors. I hurried & made spagetti and we ate & Ivard slept awhile then he did chores & Kay & Gene went to Adrian to play ball. Ivard & I went at 6:45. J.V's got beat & Varsity beat Marshing about 30 points. After the game we went over to church to Kay Ballentyne Wetstine's wedding reception. got home at 12:30. Kay & Claudia came too.

Friday, January 30, 1959

We came home from work & Jackie and I took Ray over to school & Ray got some paper. Ivard went to bed & I cleaned up & washed some clothes and got ready & at 10: we went to Caldwell to bank & Ivard went up to see if deed was back from Vale & he hadn't even sent it. We went over to Nampa & saw our place & the lady said she'd sell us the drapes & carpet for $150. came back to Caldwell & laid away some rugs & got groc. & came home & fixed supper & we ate when Kids got home from school. Ivard laid down for awhile. Kay & Gene went to Adrian to catch the bus for Fruitland. Ray did chores (finished) & Ivard & I went to Fruitland. J.V's got beat. Varsity won. Came home & Ivard went to work & I went to bed.

We came home from work & took Ray over to Prune Orchard to catch bus then we ate and I went to bed & Ivard tended Jackie, did dishes & cleaned up house. He went to bed at noon with Jackie & when she woke up they both came in & slept with me until bus came, I didn't sleep but laid & tended Jackie, she was pretty quiet.

Wednesday, January 28, 1959

got letter from Irvin.

Gene is 15 years old today.

We came home from work & I took Ray over to Prune Orchard to catch bus & Ivard went to bed. came home and made jello, carrot & pineapple salad & Gene a choclate birthday cake. I went to bed at 11: & Ivard got up & fed cows & put spare ribs on & peeled potatoes to put under them then he went to bed with Jackie & got her to sleep. I got up & put potatoes under meat & went back to bed & we got up when bus came. Ray cooked lima beans (frozen) & we ate after Gene milked and Dean & Dale did dishes & Kay, Gene & Ray went to Mutual. Kay brought Kids home from Primary after ball practice.

Ivard & I went to bed until time to go to work.

Tuesday, January 27, 1959

I came home from work & changed beds and sorted clothes & I washed one batch & Ivard washed the other 4. I went to bed at 9:30. I got up at 12: & had a bath & went to relief society. It was my lesson today, on delinquency & we got so engrossed they had to call a halt everyone said they really enjoyed it. I took Mrs Gale home & came home at 4: & made macaroni salad for supper.

Ivard had floors scrubbed & wash all done & dried.

We ate at 6: when Kay & Gene got home. & I went to bed until time to go to work. I rode with Ivard. Kay went over to school to operetta. Ivard went to bed until time to go to work too.
