Saturday, April 30, 1949

read Bible awhile. made 14 diapers and baked bread. cold & cloudy all day. ate at 3:30 & I went with Ivard to Adrian to charge some cow feed but they wouldn't let him have any so we went to Parma & got some. ate and went to bed early. rained.

Friday, April 29, 1949

finished my iorning and did up my work & got my books up. cold today. Gene is in bed again today. Lee & Syble came over & borrowed disk. we ate & at 2:30 I went & got Syble & we did our relief society teaching got home at 7: and got supper. Ivard watered beets and Grain today.

Thursday, April 28, 1949

did up work & dampened clothes & read the Bible awhile. had lunch & got Kids to nap then I iorned. at 4: Ivard & I went to Adrian & got feed. awful dust storm came up while we were over there. Gene was in bed sick all day. iorned until dark & we ate. I went to bed then ward teachers came.

Wednesday, April 27, 1949

did up the work & went down in bottom field with Ivard to clean ditches. I sat in car & crocheted most of time. fell in gopher hole & got full of sand burs. read Bible while Kids had their nap. We took Lyle, Gail, neighbor kids, Lee, Syble & Norton to closeing of Mutual party. had a good programe & dance.

Tuesday, April 26, 1949

did up work & read the Bible. Ivard & Mr. Hickman worked on a ditch above the canal & got some water on the hill. at 1: I went & got Syble and we went to relief society. planned what we'd serve next work day went up to school & voted for consolidation but the dumb guys voted it down again.

Monday, April 25, 1949

did up work, mixed bread and did a 2 weeks washing. Ivard worked on calf pens all day. cool breeze today got clothes in & put away & got supper. We went up to school to a consolidation meetings, lights were out most of time. their sure against.

Sunday, April 24, 1949

got up early & got breakfast & fixed mother a lunch & fried them a pheasant. They left for home at 11: Leslie had the mumps. cold wind. cleaned up & Ivard had a nap & I read Bible. we ate dinner at 4: & Kids did dishes. I went to bed early, mad cause Ivard didn't want to go to church.

Saturday, April 23, 1949

we got up & ate & left for Boise at 7:30. Me, Ivard, Bill, Jean, Leslie & Mother & Dad. Dad & mother had to be to a school meeting & while they were we went throu the capitol & looking the town over. Met Dad at noon & had a good dinner & a room all to ourselves. drove around town & got home at 6: & got supper & did chores. at 9:30 Bill put on a show with his moves of the families.

Friday, April 22, 1949

We ate & dad & mother left for oise to a convention at 8: Jean & I did up the work & Ivard & Bill took out two trees & looked the farm over. We had lunch & drove over to Adrian & Roswell & showed Bill some of places. Jean & I washed our hair & she fixed mine. We were going to Keith Stokers reception but were too late.

cloudy & cold. did up work & finished reading the Old Testament in Bible. washed out some things & had to water stuff in garden so it will come up. We were in bed asleep when in came Dad & woke us up about 11: they brough Bill & Jean & Kids. had to come to Boise to school convention. sure glad.

Wednesday, April 20, 1949

Ivard furrowed out top beets & got bottom ones watered. I read Bible awhile and patched all day. made salad dressing & got supper. We took Lyle and Gail and went to Mutual cloudy but no rain. baked bread.

Tuesday, April 19, 1949

finished my pillow slip lace & sewed it on for Keith Stokers shower. did up work. got dinner & at 1:15 went over and got Syble and we went to relief society, got home at 5: & got supper and at 7:30 we went & got Lee & Syble & went over to Mr. Carlson's farewell. had nice programe & dance got home at 12:30. Ivard furrowed out bottom beets.

Monday, April 18, 1949

did up the work after Kids went to school. Ivard started to water the grain & clover this morning. wrote mother. at noon we took the heifer Laurence gave us up to Mr. Carlson's sale, got $58. then Ivard spent 25. of it on an old manure spreader, went up to school & voted on a school tax bill. went to bed early.

fix lunch & we all went to sunday school then after we went up to Owyhee dam & had our dinner & looked at dam. got home at 6: & did chores & Ivard & I, Gail, Jerry & Kay went to Church. talked to Ray after till 10:45.

Saturday, April 16, 1949

cleaned my room & stove & dressers baked bread, made salad dressing & a cake and got dinner. Ivard & Kids worked on ditches this afternoon we went over to Sybles then on to Adrian & got dairy feed & a few groceries. bathed Kids. Lyle & Gail scrubbed.

Friday, April 15, 1949

made salad for Kids school easter party. rode down in field with Ivard to take planter & read the Bible came back & did up work and got my books up. Ivard planted his 10 acres of clover then we ate lunch & had nap & took planter home. planted a dz. tomatoes under hot cap & a row of onions. wrote Louise.

Thursday, April 14, 1949

sent easter cards & picture to Mother, Ruth & Berniece & Louie & card to Bill, Grandpa Cleverly and Add. went over to Lee's & waited around for him until noon then we went to Parma & got a few groceries & put some money in bank for Bills. got home at 3: & we ate & worked on ditch. I read Bible & crocheted and got supper. crocheted after supper & finished my pillow slip lace.

Wednesday, April 13, 1949

took Kids to school and went down to Vern Hughs & borrowed his planter & got some lilac bushes & came home & planted 16 of them. crocheted this afternoon. got supper and we took Lyle & Gail & neighbor kid to mutual. Ivard had to teach a scout class & I had to take a Bee Hive class cause teachers didn't show.

made salad & 12 sandwiches for relief society then made 3 lemon pies. at 11: I went over to relief society work day at the school house. There was only 7 of us & we really did eat. I brought home as much as I took. stoped to Sybles & talked awhile on the way home. read the Bible & crocheted tonight.

Monday, April 11, 1949

did up work, dampened clothes, mixed bread and got books up. Wrote Mother & Ruth C. ate & Ivard & Kids had a nap & I iorned. at 3: we went over to Adrian & charged some gas & groceries for relief society lunch. came home & finished iorning & got supper.

Sunday, April 10, 1949

We all went to Sunday school, we voted for our new church. Lyle went home with Besendofers, George came home with us. Martha came over before sunday school & gave me the book to tell the story to Kindergarten class. had car trouble over by Adrian & I went on with Mrs. Hemingway. Lee came over this afternoon We ate dinner & kids did dishes. we went to church with Carlsons.

Saturday, April 9, 1949

Ivard went over to Glen's until noon & helped poor cement & got hair cut. I did my washing, baked bread, made cake, & cooked a roast & made noodle soup for supper. made beds & cleaned my bed room. Kids cleaned the rest of the house & we ate & got kids bathed. nice hot day.

Friday, April 8, 1949

did up work and went to Adrian with Ivard to get feed ground & wagon part fixed. got gopher poison & Ivard used it this afternoon. stoped at Lee's awhile. I went out this afternoon with Ivard while he finished his electric fence around pasture.

Thursday, April 7, 1949

Ivard is 34 today. I did up work & made bread. I made a birthday cake. went out with Ivard to work on fence awhile. We had fried chicken & new aspargus, potatoes & gravy jello & cake for Ivards birthday. I went out to do chores with Ivard & kids did dishes.

Wenesday, April 6, 1949

did up work, defrosted icebox & cleaned 2 roosters & got dinner & had a bath. at 12:30 we went over to Ad's & got Doris & went to Vale & registered then to Ontario to doctor. I went shopping with Doris between my & her appointment. got home at 6: & got supper. Kids went to mutual with Woolies.

Ivard worked on fence all day. I did up work & crocheted awhile. got dinner & got ready & went down to Curtises & went to relief society with Mrs. Stoker. talked to Mrs. Curtis an hr. after. Got home at 5:30 & got supper. read Bible

Monday, April 4, 1949

Wrote mother, did up work, baked bread & went out & brned weeds with Ivard. got dinner & while Kids had nap I did up dishes & got books up. had letter from Ruth C. we went over to Sybles awhile after post hole digger. crocheted awhile.

Sunday, April 3, 1949

got breakfast & Kids did dishes & I did up work & made noodles. didn't go to sunday school, was going to listen to conference but couldn't find it. Lee & Dick came over & Ivard went with them & I got my books up. We ate & at 5:30 Ivard & I went over to Lee's & cut hair, ate supper & played games until midnight.

Ivard finished planting beets today Keith Wooley came & planted them cold & rainy. I picked over beans, got dinner made bread & 2 cakes. Kids helped do up work. got some potatoes planted in garden. Ivard cut all the kids hair.

We went over to Sybles awhile then we went to Nyssa & got the motor to the milker fixed. I finished crocheting relief society pillow slips while we waited. relief society teachers came when we got back. nice warm day. read the Bible for awhile & got supper. set a hen.
