got books up & cleaned out my receipts. got feed ground. Ivard went to work earlier. I sewed all day & Kids did up work. We ate supper & Kids did dishes & chores. Ivard ever showed up. Lee & Syble came over & we played touring until 10: then they went home because Ivard wasn't here. he got home at 12:15 he'd been

wrote letters & got books up. made 2 shirts & half of baby dress. got supper & Ivard - Lyle - Gail & I went over to Kens & went to Nyssa to ball practice then after game we went up to Olsens while Lola & kids had a bath. sure got cold. got home at 12:15.

Wednesday, December 29, 1948

got up & went with Ivard to work in snow. Kay & I went up to Ad's at noon. Ivard came & took Kay to Chaneys Party. We ate duck dinner then Doris, Ad & I went to Ontario. I made an appointment with doctor & made payment on our place. got home at 5:30 & Ivard came & got me at 6: & we came home in snow. was nice all day. just snowed on us going & comeing from Ad's.

Tuesday, December 28, 1948

Ivard went to work & I cleaned the house then I cut out 7 shirts for the Kids. Lawrence & Afton came & visited for about an hr. Gail got home from Stokers. I had a bath & we ate & went over to Glen's & Ivard got his hair cut. warmer today.

Monday, December 27, 1948

snowed all morning. Ivard went to work & Kids did up the work & I got books up. I cut out two baby dresses. Jimmy was here all after noon & Gail went home with him to stay all night. Lee & Syble came over for awhile & borrowed the vacum, brought me a pyrex set for Xmas. got 2 pr. Nylons from mother.

Sunday, December 26, 1948

never got up until 9: Ivard did chores & we ate hot cakes. played games all day while I got supper. Ivard lined back porch. had turkey, dressing, giblet gravey, potatoes, yams, peas, hot rolls, cranberry orange & apricot sherbet & fruit cake. Kids did dishes & I got little Kids to bed & we played touring.

Saturday, December 25, 1948

Ivard did chores & we opened presents. We had a pretty good Xmas for no money, we had bacon, eggs, toast & grapefruit at noon. Lyle & Gail went over to Sybles till 10:30 P.M. We played games & had cake & fruit cocktail for supper. we were going to Sybles but couldn't start car. Ivard, Jerry & I played Monolpy till Kids came.

Friday, December 24, 1948

did my iorning & got curtains up. Lyle scrubbed kitchen & dineing room. Gene sick in bed all day. when Ivard came from work we went over to Sybles & got eggs & had a drink of wine with her family. 21 of them for holidays. went to Roswell & got groceries. ate & got Kids to bed & played santa. were going to take kids to ward programe, but too cold. Ma sent a turkey.

Thursday, December 23, 1948

Kids got out of school at 11: for holidays. We put up bed on back porch & I washed wood work all day. finished drying clothes & got them put away. Ivard did chores & we ate & went to bed early. awful cold again today.

Wednesday, December 22, 1948

Ivard went to work & I cleaned up the house and took curtains down & washed them with my washing. took bed down & back porch & scrubbed & cleaned it good. got supper & kids did dishes then we all went up to school to Xmas programe & santa clause. sure cold.

Tuesday, December 21, 1948

Ivard laid off today and we took Gene & Ray over to Sybles & I had a bath then we went to Ontario. Ivard went to see F.S.A. & went up to see Dr. Belnap he said I was pragnent (July 15) stoped in to Ad's a min. on the way. got home at dark & ate & did chores. went to bed early.

Monday, December 20, 1948

did up work, I sure feel awful. wrote to mother. got such pains in my stomach I went to bed at noon. Ivard came from work & got supper. Lyle & Gail went with Ivard to Nyssa to play basketball. got home at 11:30.

Sunday, December 19, 1948

Ivard & 6 Kids went to sunday school & I cleaned up house. Lyle went over to Melvins & Gail went down to Stokers. I finished cleaning up house while Ivard made a stand on Xmas tree then he decorated it. We ate & Jerry & I did dishes while Ivard did chores. Got kids to bed & listened to raido until Kids came.

Saturday, December 18, 1948

Ivard didn't have to be to work until 10: I didn't feel good. I got a bushel of iorning done by laying down awhile in between Gail went over to Norton's all day. Lyle & Jerry cleaned front room & washed wood work. Ivard & Lyle went to Nampa at 6:30 with Mr. Heminway to scout doings. got home at 11:45.

Friday, December 17, 1948

spent all morning wrapping pkgs & fixing cards & letters. Jerry stayed home sick, teeth ache. Ivard came home at noon & we went over to Lee's all afternoon & visited. Ray & Evelyn were there too. did chores, ate & went to bed early.

Thursday, December 16, 1948

Gene went to school with kids & I made a big kettle of beef noodle soup to serve at school. teacher came & got it. Glen & Add came at 11: & Ray & I went to Caldwell with them to take cow to sale then Glen bought our dinner & I went Xmas shopping with them. I went for wild ride with salvage guy to his house & got the rest of money for our wrecked car. got home at dark.

Wednesday, December 15, 1948

I washed today. cold wind but I got quite a few dry. We ate supper then Ivard, Lyle & Gail went over & went with Ken to Nyssa to basketball practice. I did dishes & made noodles for school lunch tomorrow.

Tuesday, December 14, 1948

wrapped Xmas presents & sent our presents to Utah. did dishes for half a day & cleaned & moped the house Ivard got home from work & did chores & we ate then he went out missionarying with Mr. Carlson

Monday, December 13, 1948

Ivard went to work & I cleaned up & got books up & wrote letters, Mother, Bernece & Grandpa Batt. I spent all afternoon makeing a shirt for Ray, Kent and Billie. We ate supper & Gail & Jerry went over to Marv's to Xmas party & we let Lyle, Kay & Gene off at show in Adrian & we took Ray & went to Nyssa to ball game with Ken. We won.

Sunday, December 12, 1948

never got up till 11: & ate at noon. rained all last night. fooled around all day trying to clean house. had my bed room done when Add & Doris came after Xmas cards. rest sure was a mess then Lee & Syble came. we finally got it done & fed Kids & did chores & we went & got Lee & Syble & went to Adrian to "Babe Ruth Story." cow had twin Jersey bulls.

Saturday, December 11, 1948

Ivard went to work & got home at noon. he has Roy's car for the holidays. Gail went over to Nortons. we took Gene & Ray over for him to tend & Lyle & Jerry went with us to Parma & finished up their Xmas shopping & Jerry finished delivering his cards. Jerry doesn't feel very good but I guess he hasn't got mumps. Gail stayed over to Nortons all night.

Friday, December 10, 1948

Ivard went to work at 8: I did up work & patched all day. Stan & Louise came on their way to Utah & left their dog, Speck, with us & they took Bill & Jean's Xmas down for me. Lee came over & brought a goose for them to take. cold & stormy. Ivard went out missionarying with Mr. Carlson.

Thursday, December 9, 1948

spent all morning addressing Xmas cards. had a nap & made a pie for bizzar. got Ins. money for car, at last. Ivard got home from work at 6:30 & we ate & he did chores. I had a bath & got ready & Mr. Carlson came & took us over to Bizzar. we couldn't buy any thing only something to eat. no one danced much.

Wednesday, December 8, 1948

Ivard went to work at Potatoe cellar in Adrian today. I did up work & had a nap all afternoon. got our first Xmas card with a $5. check from Grandpa Batt. Jerry went & delivered cards. I had supper ready when Ivard came. Lee came over at 8:30 & took us to Adrian & Ivard practice basketball. beat Town team with 4 players.

Tuesday, December 7, 1948

Ivard didn't go to work again today. I made bread. It snowed last night & this morning. Gail stayed home with ear ache. Susie had twin heifer calves but one froze to death. Roy & Betty came at 3: & took us to Nampa in there new dodge to get our beans. Lee & Syble came at 8: & took us over to Ray & Evelyns to an Elk supper on Stan & Louise. played games. made an apron for relief society.

Monday, December 6, 1948

Ivard didn't work again today. I felt better but still not very good. I spent all day writeing letters & getting books up. I wrote mother & Jean. had a letter from Jean today. Ivard plowed. I made chicken & noodles for supper. Ivard did dishes.

Sunday, December 5, 1948

I was in bed all day. I was in awful pain. They all got ready to go to sunday school. but Mr. Carlson couldn't start his car. Ivard got dinner. He fried 3 chickens & had potatoes. I made gravy for him. relief society teachers came. I helped Kids wrap Xmas presents. We went to bed early after they got dishes done.

Saturday, December 4, 1948

I was sick in bed all day. Lee and Syble came over awhile & brought us a chicken. Ivard borrowed Roys car & took Kids to Wilder & got them some basketball stuff & him some boots. Gail got home at dark. Oil guys came & filled the barrells. we went to bed early.

Friday, December 3, 1948

Add came & took me over to Stans sale Ivard walked over & went with Lee. I helped Add sale lunch. we came to her place at 6: then Eddie & Doris brought us home. Kids had been to Venae's birthday party and Gail stayed all night. fixed Kids something to eat then we went to bed.

Thursday, December 2, 1948

Ivard didn't work again today. Lee came over at 10:30 & Ivard & kids went over & tended Earl & we went to Parma & got groceries. We got home at 3 & ate & I helped Syble do dishes then Lee brought us home. Ivard went back with Lee & walked over to Ken's & went to Nyssa & played basketball he got home at 11:

Wednesday, December 1, 1948

cold & no sun all day. Ivard went with Roy to figure out Wooleys beets then they came back & figured ours out. I dried clothes & put them away & patched all day. We ate & Ivard walked up to Wooley to go to Nyssa to basketball game. Lyle walked over to Hemmingways to go to Mutual. Lyle got home at 10:30 with Stockers. Ivard got home at 11:30.
