Monday, February 28, 1949

Ivard plowed all day & I did my washing, baked bread, cleaned & cooked a chicken & made noodles for supper. Lee & Syble came just as we got thru eating & Ivard went up to Carlsons with Lee & Syble helped me make beds. got a box of new baby clothes & cloth & blankets from Berniece.

Sunday, February 27, 1949

We all went to sunday school & Ivard left for Weiser before it was out to meeting. Lyle went to Ballentynes & Gail down to Stokers until 5: me & Kids came home & ate & had a nap then I got my lesson for next sunday, I have to give it. Jerry, Kay & I went & got Syble & went to church met Ivard there.

Saturday, February 26, 1949

Ivard plowed all day & kids cleaned the yard. I baked bread, made a cake & cleaned & scrubbed the house good. made chilli. We ate supper & Ivard, Lyle & Gail bathed. I read quite a bit of the bible today.

Friday, February 25, 1949

did up my work and at 10:30 I went & got Syble and we did our relief society teaching. got home at 1: & Ivard took the Kids to Adrian to play ball. he plowed all day. got supper & Ivard went out missionarying.

Thursday, February 24, 1949

Me & Kids went to Wilder & got gas then over to Sybles. got dinner & had a nap with Kids, patched then made pies & got supper. Ivard went miss. & I drove Kids up to school to a social. I came home & got my books up & wrote letters.

Wednesday, February 23, 1949

Ivard worked out in field all day & I cleaned front porch & got Kids bed back out then I cleaned front room & dineing room good. baked bread & made chicken pie & pudding for supper. Jerry & I did dishes while Kids cleaned out chicken coop. sat out by bon fire until 8:30 then we all went to bed.

Tuesday, February 22, 1949

Cooked chicken for supper & did up work at 11: we went over to Sybles & waited for them to get home until 12:30 then Ivard went to Ontario sale with Lee & Syble & I started for relief society, run out of gas & walked down to Ricks & she took us over to Mechams & we went with Mrs. Stoker up to Laresens. I was voted in a member of relief society. got back to Sybles & got supper & we ate. got home & Kids had supper ready too. Ivard went miss.

Monday, February 21, 1949

Kids left for school & I cleaned up & got my books up & wrote to Mother. We went over to Sybles & to Adrian to get pipe to fix drain, was wrong kind so we had to go back. got my drain out of sink fixed. ate & did chores then Gail & Jerry went with us over to Ken Olsens to last basketball game, we lost got home at 12:30.

Sunday, February 20, 1949

We ate breakfast & did chores & we all went to sunday school. Lyle went home with Melvin. We came home & Gail & Jerry went up to Furgesons to birthday Party. I had nap while Ivard got chickens cleaned & potatoes peeled. We had fried chicken for supper & Ivard went & got kids at 5:30. we ate & did dishes & chores & Mr. Carlson came & took us to church.

Ivard & Kids did chores & took Mr. Carlson to Adrian then we ate breakfast & at 10:30 Mr. Carlson came down & we took him to Caldwell then we took Kay to Nampa & got groceries & Kay shoes. went back to Caldwell to sale & brought Mr. Carlson & Studyke home at 4:30. Ivard took them home & I got supper & we bathed & Lyle & Gail went with us to Gold & Green Ball at Oregon Trail went after Syble but they wouldn't go. spring, guys are plowing

took Kids to school then went on down to Vern Hughs & borrowed his bore. Ate dinner & Ivard took kids to Adrian to play ball I did up work & dampened clothes. when Ivard got back at 4: we took pig home. Ivard went out missionarying & I iorned until he got home at 11:

Got Kids off to school then Ivard helped me do a 3 weeks wash I got everything in & dried. it was cloudy but warm & a breeze. we ate supper & Ivard went out missionarying.

Wednesday, February 16, 1949

spent all morning makeing potatoe chowder to serve at school. Ivard went up at 10: & took Kids to Adrian to practice ball then came at noon & took up their lunch. Lyle left for Mutual without his coat so we took it & went after him, he was too late. We stayed to Sybles for awhile.

Tuesday, February 15, 1949

Ivard went to Adrian & worked in potatoe cellar today. I cleaned up the house & had supper ready when Ivard & Kids came. Ivard went up to Carlsons until 10: to go miss. but they didn't go.

Monday, February 14, 1949

Ivard took Kids to school then we went over to Sybles. I got dinner for her while she finished washing we came home at 1:30. when kids came we went over to Ken Olsens & had supper then went to Nyssa to ball game with them. wrote mother.

Sunday, February 13, 1949

We all went to sunday school but Jerry, he stayed home & cooked meat. Came home & got dinner & Ivard read. this afternoon I made cookies & got my books up. Gail went home with Norton then they came over. we had cookies & cocoa, did chores & Kay, Lyle went with us over to Nortons & picked up Gail & we went to church.

Saturday, February 12, 1949

I guided car & we towed it over to Adrian & got a new fuel pump on. I was going to wash but Ivard read & wouldn't help me so I got mad & read too. got groceries, talked to Ray & Evelyn awhile. went around Lee's & got some eggs. came home & ate & did chores & took Gail & Jerry & went over to Lees & played cards & ate pop corn & washed my hair. Lyle was sick all day (playing possum).

Friday, February 11, 1949

cold north wind all day. Ivard laid around & read all day. I did my iorning this afternoon. Our car wouldn't run & Ivard didn't work on it today. We went to bed early.

Thursday, February 10, 1949

Ivard went to Adrian to see about work he came at noon with Glen & Ad & we went to Caldwell to sale with them & took old yellow. We got home at 6: Lyle went to Vale to "Scout of Honor" we ate & did chores & got to bed early. cold wind all day.

Wednesday, February 9, 1949

Ivard took guys car home & got ours fixed. I did up work & had a bath. Ivard came at noon & we took Kids over to Ad's & we took Mrs. Stoker & Patterson to Ontario & I went to doctor. I lost 2 1/2 lbs since I went last. rained all day. We got Kids & got home at 6: & ate supper. I made chili this morning. we took Lyle over to Hemingways to go to Mutual.

Ivard got neighbor Kids & took them to school then we went over & got Syble & went over to Annie Stokers to work meeting. cut out quilts & learned how to make a rug. Ivard came after us at 3:30. We had lunch their, made dumplings for supper. Ivard went out missionarying.

Monday, February 7, 1949

Ivard took kids to school & went to see if he could work today. I mixed bread & got books up & wrote mother. Ivard came at noon & went to Wilder & got spark plugs in car. I made bread buns & noodles. We ate when Kids came then we all went over to get Nancy & Norton & went to Adrian to championship game between Owyhee & Nyssa. Nyssa won. Ivard refereed & they were very unhappy with refrees.

we all went to sunday school & fast meeting. Jimmy came home with us. we ate fried chicken for dinner then Ivard played monoply with kids & I helped little kids make valentines. Thed did chores & we took Lyle, Gail & Jimmy & went to church. scout programe. awful cold wind & blizzard all day. glad their wasn't much snow.

Saturday, February 5, 1949

Got up late & had hot cakes at 11: Ivard & I went over to Sybles & bathed & at 1:45 we took Syble & started for Doris's babys funeral but couldn't find it. ran out of gas & Cliff Wright towed us back to Adrian we went to cafe & had a cheesburger. got meat out of locker & took Syble & went over to Add's a hr. took Syble home at 6: & got home & kids had supper all ready. did chores & we went back over to Sybles until midnight & played games.

Friday, February 4, 1949

Ivard & I just laid around all day. I didn't feel so hot. had supper ready when Kids got home from school. after we did chores we went over to Sybles a few min to tell her about Doris's baby. then on over to Ad's to see when funeral is. got home at midnight. Read Bible awhile.

Thursday, February 3, 1949

Lyle had a stiff neck so he stayed home today. about 10:30 Ivard & I went over to Ad's. Glen & Ivard were going to take cow to sale but Glen had taken Doris to hospital so I stayed with Ad all day & Ivard went down to Roys & worked on the car all day. Doris's baby was born dead, deformed head. I went to bed early. Mr. Carlson came awhile.

Wednesday, February 2, 1949

Ivard didn't have to go to work until 1: his last day I guess. He took me & the kids over to Ad's first & I made button holes in the Kids 14 shirts. Ivard came after us at 5: I got supper on & we took Lyle over to go to Mutual with Heminways. stayed at Sybles a few min. We read until midnight.

Tuesday, February 1, 1949

I baked bread & had a bath then at 1: Mrs. Stoker came & took me to relief society up at Flora Garners new house. Kept Gail home to tend kids. we just ate when Keith Wooley came & took us to Ontario to basketball tournment. Ivard had to refree but his foot hurt so bad he got Lewis to after first quarter. Owyhee won. fog & cold.
