came home from work & got Dale & Jackie & after we ate we went to Nampa & got Ivards check & paid baler then went to Caldwell to bank & got groc. Jerry bought us a root beer

We came home at noon & Jerry & I went to bed.

got up & Jerry made hot cakes for supper.

I went back to bed after supper.

Kay went ward teaching with Jesse.

Ivard didn't work again today.

We came home from work & Jerry & all the kids wen to Priesthood sunday school & fast meeting. Kay drove them. I washed 3 batches of clothes today. I went to bed with Ivard awhile then he got up & tended Jackie & cleaned up. I got up at 1:30 & made jello salad & sour Krut & weinnies. Kids got home at 2:30 & we ate and Jerry & I went to bed. Ivard laid down awhile too, he read, finished "Peyton Place."

no one went to church tonight We went to work at 11: I drove tonight.

Ivard didn't work today.

Saturday, March 29, 1958

came home from work and washed some clothes & went to bed at 10: Ivard & Gene took Kay over to school to go to Nampa & play a double Header base ball game & got cow & pig feed.

At 12:30 I got up & Ivard, Gene & I went to Nampa to ball game. after the first game I took Ivard up to yard office to go to work for 3: & Gene & I went back to game. We got beat both. Went to Caldwell & got groc. black & cold & rainy & wind. about froze at ball game. got home at 6: & ate & went to bed until time to go get Ivard at 10:30, Jerry & I went & Ivard bought us a milk shake & droped us off at work at 11:30. Ray got home from his scout trip before I came from town. Kay went with Pete Hammond tonight.

got letter from Lyle.

I came home from work & Ivard had gone to work and Ray was still home. Ray had his pack & sleeping bag ready to take so the scouts could go on an overnight hike after school. I took him to school in Pick up & took his stuff over to Petersons. came home and went to bed at 10: & never got up until 3:45. Jerry cleaned up house & got supper. We ate at 5:10 & Ivard still hadn't come home.

Simplots called for Jerry to come to work again tonight.

Ivard never came home until midnight, he'd been playing cards ever since he got off work at 4:

We ate & Gene did chores & tended kids & Jerry & I went over to High School to Junior Class play "Nuts and Bolts" Kay was one of maine parts. & he was good.

Came home & went to work.

got letter from Mother & Dad

We came home from work & Jerry went to bed all day. I washed 2 batches of clothes & Ivard, Dale, Jackie & I went to Caldwell to bank got some supplies at drug store & easter baskets & candy. got Ivards electric razor out of repaire & stoped to Simplots & got 2 gal. peanut butter. Came home at noon & washed & hung out another batch of clothes & went to bed an hr. got up & washed a batch of clothes & at 3:30 I went over to school for an report card interview with Dean's teacher. came home & got clothes in & Jerry got supper. We ate & I went to bed but couldn't get to sleep until about 9:

Ivard about got all the grain planted, run out. Kay had his play for grade school today. They called & told Jerry not to come to work tonight. Ivard didn't work either.

Kay went to bed early.

Wednesday, March 26, 1958

Kay went to play practice & Ray went to Mutual. Nancy had a girl tonight.

We came home from work & Gail came with Debbie & they said they'd watch Kids so Jerry & I went to bed. I woke up at noon & Jackie was just screaming. her & Debbie were in house alone & they had thread & Bobbins all over the place. I got ready & went over & got Syble & Nancy & went up to Lenies to a shower on Nancy then she had to leave before it was over. Dale was supposed to be tending Kids & Ivard & Gail & Lee & Duaine dehorned all our calves & cut pigs then they went over & did Lee's they took Debbie & Jackie went to bed. They left Dale home & he walked over. We took Debbie to shower & Gail came & got her just as I was comeing home. Gail took Dale over & Picked up the load of Primary kids & took them. I got books up & Ivard went out to Plant grain.

I went to bed until time to go to work. Kay went & got Kids from Primary at Big bend Park road. Jerry & I went to work.

rainy today. Ivard had gone to work in Boise.

I came home from work & Ray was home with sore throat. Jerry had Jackie dressed & Ray tended her & I took Jerry to Caldwell for an interview at unemployment office then he had to go to Martin Wholesale, they had 3 applicants & they said they'd call if they wanted him but they never. We got groc. & came home at 11: & I went to bed until 1: & got up & went & got Mrs. Gale & we went to relief society. Came home & Gene had called & said the High School's first base ball game was at Adrian instead of Nyssa so Ray, Dale, & I went. got beat 11 to 5. came home & Jerry had supper ready & we ate. Ivard came at 6:30 he'd stoped off & had 3 bottles of beer. Kay came home & ate & took Jerry over to Duaines to go to meeting & he went to play practice. Jerry got called to work at Simplots tonight so I drove him & I went to bed at 7: & never got to sleep until after 8:

Ivard went to Boise to work at 7: I came home from work & went right to bed & never woke up until 3:15 & it was thundering so loud it woke me up. it was really lightening. It rained hard & hailed but didn't last long. Jerry made chilli, fruit cocktaile & cookies for supper.

I read for a couple of hours.

Ivard had Parma dispatcher call & tell us he had to work until midnight.

We ate & I got books up. Ray walked home & got here about time Kay came from ball practice at 6:30. Kay drove the Pick-up to play practice. I went back to bed at 7:30.

Ivard went to Boise to work at 7: Gene did chores & we all got ready & went to Priesthood & sunday school. Kay & Gene Rode wth Gail & they came home & had dinner, Jerry got it. after we ate Kay & Gene went home with Gail to go to church with him.

It rained hard for awhile this morning.

I got books up & had a nap for an hr.

Ivard was home from work when I woke p.

Ivard did chores and Dean & Dale tended Jackie and Ray & I went to church. Jerry went to Parma to Wagstaffs farwell testimony wth Haney. We took 15 sacks of clothes for drive. came home & laid down a hr. & went to work.

Saturday, March 22, 1958

I got up and fixed Ivards lunch & he left for Boise at 7: & I went back to bed & Gene did chores. We ate & I washed clothes & ironed all morning then Jerry ironed while I rode to Wilder with Kay to take his gopher tails & get a pr. of levies. Came home & ironed until 5:30 & finished it. Ray scrubbed kitchen & Jerry waxed it.

Jerry cooked supper & they ate & Ivard & I got ready & went to Caldwell to Pix & saw "Peyton Place" sure good, got there just as show started at 6:30 when we got out we went to Nampa to Harmony Cafe & had supper. I had Prawns & Ivard had roast Turkey. We got home about 10:45, & Kay had just got home from play practice. Ivard watched show & I went to bed.

Friday, March 21, 1958

Sent Lyle a letter.

I came home from work I wrote a letter to Lyle and dampened down a months ironing & washed clothes I laid down at 11: and slept until 2: and Jerry got me up & I ironed all afternoon.

Jerry got supper & we ate & I went & got Kay from ball practice at 6: & he ate & got ready & at 6:45 I took him over to Adrian to play practice then after he went to Caldwell to show. I wanted to go too but Ivard never got home from work until about 8:30, got off at 4: he'd been up to Lucky Peak dam boating. I was mad & went to bed.

Had the night off.

Jerry made waffles for supper.

I came home from work & Ivard, Jerry, Dale & Jackie went to Boise in Pick-up to get some scrap wood at work. I made a batch of no-bake cookies & when gas guy came I went to bed.

The guys came home & Jerry made a cake for P.T.A. & fixed supper & we ate when kids got home.

Ivard & Dean went to P.T.A. & I went to bed, I don't feel good. Kay went to play practice.

I came home from work and Ivard was to Boise to work. I washed some clothes and went to bed. Jerry did up work & tended Jackie.

I got up at 2: & read awhile. I took Dale over to Prune Orchard to go to Primary & brought Gene & Ray home from bus. I went & got them at 6: over by Clucu's. I just got home & I had to go to Adrian & get Kay from ball practice - in pick up. We ate & Kay drove Jerry, Gene & Ray to Mutual in Pick-up. Ivard didn' come home from work. We passed him on the hill going to Wilder on our way to work at 11:15 he'd been helping some guy move.

Tuesday, March 18, 1958

I came home from work and went to bed and at 1: I got up and had a bath and went & got Nancy & Syble & down & got Mrs. Gale & we went to relief society. Literature today. Ethel Stoker gave a good lesson on "King Leer" came home & worked on my books Jerry made a big kettle of soup for supper.

Ivard went to Adrian & got seed grain & over to Lee's to dehorn calves but Syble forgot to tell him & he'd gone to town.

We ate at 4:45 and Kay went to practice & I read awhile & went to bed until time to go to work.

Jerry went to sunday school meeting. Ivard took him over to Duaine's to go.

Ivard didn't work today.

Monday, March 17, 1958

Kay came home from ball practice & ate & drove the Pick up to play practice
Ivard didn't work today

I came home from work & Ray was home with Kids & doctoring his sore toe. Ivard did chores & choped trees down. I washed 3 big batches of clothes & at 10:30 I went to bed. I got up at 1:30 & washed 2 more batches of clothes & had some punch and cooked supper.

I read awhile then laid down awhile but couldn't sleep. Ray cleaned up house today.

I got books up & called Lynda & told her off for takeing Jerry home then I talked to Jerry & he told me Debbie had got hit in head with shovel (by Gail) & had it sewed up & he was tending her while Lynda worked. They could have said something. I was so tired & mad because they've been tring to get him all along & they knew I couldn't work with out him. I went to bed & bawled to sleep. They brought Jerry home.

Sunday, March 16, 1958

I came home from work & Ivard had gone to work at Boise. Kids all went to Priesthood and sunday school. I was going to bed but Jackie bawled every time I put her in her Pen so I read paper, put yesterdays wash away & when the kids got home I laid down awhile & Jerry fixed dinner. Ray stayed over to Ad's all day. We ate & I took Jerry over to Mitchells to go to Nyssa to Stake meeting & came home & went to bed. Kay & Dean did dishes. I woke up at 5: when Ivard came and we went after Jerry, but he was over by Auckers walking.

Kay drove the Kids to church and Ivard tended Jackie & I went to bed but I couldn't sleep very good. Gail & Lynda came & took Jerry out of church to tend Debbie, I was so mad.

Ivard waited for me & I went in & applied for a loan at our credit union (Simplot) We came home & I bathed baby & we ate & went to bed with Ivard. We got up at 2: & I washed 3 batches of clothes & got books up & made out payments to mail Monday.

I came home from work & ate and Ivard & I, Jerry, Dale & Jackie went to Nampa & got Ivards check & went to bank in Caldwell & put it in. Jerry went to unemployment office but it didn't do him any good.

Went to dairy & got calf feed & some cheese & icecream & came home & ate icecream & I went to bed at 11: Ivard went over to Adrian & ordered seed & fertilizer & over to Lees & sharpened ax and got Kay from ball practice. We got up at 3: & Ivard, Jackie & I went to Wilder & Ivard had a hair cut. I read while we waited & when we came home.

Jerry had supper ready when the kids got home & we ate.

Kay took Pick-up & went to play Practice & never got home until after midnight, he went to show with Pete.

I went to bed until time to go to work. Ivard took Jerry over to Duaines to go to Nyssa to sunday school meeting.

I came home from work & ate & sorted clothes & washed a batch & Jerry washed 2 batches & I went to bed.

It was 4: when I got up. and Jerry had supper ready. Ivard took Dale over to go to Primary & brought Gene & Ray home. We ate & Ivard did chores & I went & got Kids from Primary. Kay came home from ball practice at 6:30 & ate & went back to play practice in Pick up & I took Gene & Ray over to go to Givins swimming with Mutual.

Ivard filled in wash outs today. I went to bed at 8: with Ivard. I wrote Mother.

Ivard went to work at 10: & I went at 11: Ivard had to go to Adrian & get his lantern out of Pick-up.

I came home from work and went to bed for an hr then got ready & Ivard took me over & got Syble & Nancy & took us to relief society work day at 10:30. Ivard went on over to Payette to apply for a loan at federal land bank.

We had a good dinner then this afternoon we had our annual party & played games.

At 4:30 Jerry came & got us, Ivard had gone to work. stoped & got groc.

came home & Jerry had supper ready & we ate when bus came. I went to bed at 6: & stayed until time to get ready for work at 10:30.

Kay came home after base ball practice.

Monday, March 10, 1958

I came home from work & went right to bed, Ivard was allready in bed. Jerry woke us up at 2:30 & we had a sandwich & Ivard fed cows & at 3:30 Gail & Lynda came & took us up to Nampa & Ivard signed with him to borrow some money to consolidated his bills, got a letter from Lyle today & he wants us to do the same thing.

Came home & Jerry had supper ready & I made gravy & we ate & Gail went home and Ivard & Kay went to P.T.S.A. & I got books up & read paper & went to bed. I didn't have 50 cents to pay for ball game after so I stayed home. Ivard ended up paying Gail & Lyndas way in.

a car went off in drain ditch at 4: A.M & guy woke us all up calling his folks & wrecker. We went back to sleep about 5:30 & forgot to wake up until 9: too late to go to conference. I dashed Jerry & Kay over to go with Duaine. Ivard slept all morning. I read paper & washed my hair & made a big kettle of potatoe salad & when Jerry got home he made barbacue & we ate about 3: & I read 95 pages in "Decline & Fall" took all afternoon. I washed 3 batches of clothes.

came home from work & went to bed with Ivard & got warm, didn't go to sleep. Jerry made waffles & we got up & ate and I washed my bedding & laid down a half hr. then at 1:15 Jerry & I went to Caldwell & got $45. worth of groc on sle with some of gas tax refund. got me some overalls & the other new tire. came home at 5:30 & Ivard had gone to work for 3: P.M Jerry made my bed & swept & we ate & I washed some more clothes & at 7: I went to bed, I was dead.

Ivard stoped & got a new tire on car on way home & he picked me up at 8: came home & we both went to bed. got up at 1: & went to Parma & pd. lights & Ivards ring off & got some eggs & sack of potatoes & I paid on my 2 laways. stoped to Lee's a little while. Came home & Jerry had supper all ready & when Kids got here we ate.

I made 4 pie crusts & cinnamon rolls before I took Dale and Jerry made 2 banna pies & chilli for supper.

Kay came home on school bus & we ate. at 6: I went over to Big Bend Park road & got Primary Kids.

Kay took Gene & Ray to Adrian in Pick-up to meet Mr. Bullen & go to Mutual & he went to play practice they got home about 10:00. Ivard & I went to bed & at 10:15 we got up & I rode to work with Ivard. He had to be there at 11:30.

I came home from work & Lynda was here to have Ivard go to Caldwell & try out a pick up to buy so I rode with them. They raised the price on it so we didn't get it. Came home at 11: & went to bed & at 1: I got up & got ready & went & got Mrs. Gale & went to relief society. good. I bore my testimony & bawled.

Ivard plowed today.

I came & we ate when kids got home then I rode over to Adrian with Ivard to get Kay from play practice. Came home & went to bed until time to go to work.

Came home & ate & bathed Jackie & went to bed at 9:30. I got up at 3:50 and washed 2 batches of clothes and got my books up.

Jerry worked on his monthly reports & made a angle food cake & got supper & tended Jackie. He kept Dale in bed all day, he has a bad cold.

Ivard doubled over at 4: & wasn't home yet when I left for work. I had to go to Adrian in Pick up to get Kay & Phylip from place practice. Kay took Jerry over to Lees to go to meeting, with Duaine. I read awhile & went to bed until time to go to work.

I came home from work & went to bed & Ivard & all the Kids went to Priesthood & sunday school. Ivard, Jerry & Jackie came home after sunday school because Jackie wouldn't be good & the rest of Kids stayed to Fast meeting & went home with Gail & Lynda. Dean bore his testimony first time. I got up & washed a batch of under clothes & Ivard & I went up to Gails new house, above Ray Schulthies, at 1:30 and had dinner, cold, sure good. Jerry stayed home & worked on his talk for tonight. Came home at 4:30 & went to bed until 6:45 then got ready & Jerry & I & Ray went to church & Jerry & I gave our talks, relief society programe. Came home at 8:30 & went to bed until time to go to work. Ivard watched T.V.

Sunny & nice. got up at 9: & Gene had chores done. we ate & I washed a batch of clothes & took Ray over to Strawns to go on scrap drive with scouts.

I got books up & wrote my talk for tomorrow night & Kay typed it washed car & cleaned his bed room. Jerry worked on his talk for tomorrow night. Gene plowed & Ivard had a nap after noon, worked outside all morning.

Mr. Thompson drove their car home with load of players, Jim drove it up. Kay rode home with them to Adrian.

Kids went to school & I got up at 9:30. sunny but cold wind.

Ivard did chores & I took him down to Toms to finish hauling manure. I got books up & worked on my talk. at noon I went down & got Ivard & we went to Nampa & got his check & he laid off again. Went to Caldwell & Ivard went to bank while I got groc. stoped at Jack & Jerrys & ordered 2 tires for car. came home at 4: & Jerry had supper ready & we ate when kids got home. We stoped to Simplots & got my check & I laid off again. At 5:30 we went up & saw Norman Price about Jerry going to Baker with him & Picked up Thompsons & went over & the 4 of us went with Pattersons to Baker. stoped in Huntington on our way up & had Pie & icecream. got to Baker at 7:30 for final game in tournment. Huntington beat us 55-33 sure a good game. lost it on foul pitches got a nice 2nd place trophey. Sayre Hatch & Kay got picked on all star team. Had hamberger in Baker with some of Team then stoped in H. & had icecream. got home at 2:00 A.M.

Kids went to school & Ivard milked. I put away clothes I washed yesterday & dried the diapers & put away that Jerry washed last night. then I washed 3 batches of clothes & got books up.

Gail & Lynda came & borrowed Pick up to move back in Owyhee Ward, up by Vern Widmar & took Jerry to help them. Ivard went down & helped Tom haul manure all day.

I went & got Ivard at 5: & they did chores & I fed kids & Ivard dashed Gene & Jimmy over to Adrian to catch bus for Baker but they missed it so they came back & got me & we went over to Patterson's & went with them & Thompsons. We droped Gene & Jim off at Nyssa & they went with Gail. Huntington beat us 67 to 52 Adrian looked awful. We ate in Huntington. Gail was over to Pattersons with the kids when we got there. got home at 2: A.M. Ivard & I laid off.

I laid off work sick.

I came home from work & bathed Jackie & went to bed. Ivard doubled this morning & never got home until 4:

I got up & took Dale over to Prune Orchard at 3:30 to catch Ida & go to Primary. I waited & got Kay & Kids off the bus. I washed clothes & did up the sweaters. Jerry had supper ready & we ate when Ivard got home.

Kay packed his suite case & I took him to Adrian at 5: to go to Baker to 2nd round of tournment. He rode with Jim Thompson. I came home & got ready & at 6: Ivard & I, Jerry & Gene went & got Berdell & went to Baker. We beat St. Francise 43 to 42. were 14 pts. ahead & he put 2nd team in & nearly got beat. Ivard drove up, he hasn't been to bed since Tuesday morning at 7: A.M. We stoped in Huntington & ate. I drove home it was 2: A.M when we got here. Gail & Lynda were up there. Ray tended kids.

I came home from work & went right to bed. I got up at 1:30 & went to relief society, alone. stoped & got Gene's pictures he had developed.

Ivard & Tom finished hauling our manure today, Jerry cooked dinner for them, then they started on Toms.

I came home & finished the iorning & Jerry got supper. Kay went & got Ivard & we ate & they did chores.

I went to bed until time to go to work. When I got up at 10:30 Ivard had left for work.

It was a nice day.

Kay took Jerry over to Duains & he went to a sunday school meeting.

I came home from work & went right to bed. Jerry woke me up at 3: & I made 2 cherry pies, 2 shells & a pan of cinnamon rolls & iorned. Jerry made chilli for supper.

We ate & at 6: Ivard & I had to go over to Adrian & get Kay & Philip from practice. got a few groc.

I went to bed until time to go to work.

Duaine came & took Jerry & Kay ward teaching & Ivard went over to church to a meeting on Finances for new addition to Stake House.

Ivard went to work this morning.

got a letter from Dad & Mother has had a big, very serious operation & was awful sick.

Sunday, February 23, 1958

They did chores & Ivard & all the kids went to Priesthood & sunday school. I had such a bad cough I stayed home with Jackie. I washed 4 batches of clothes & cleaned up & read paper.

Gail & Lynda came home from church with them & ate dinner with us. We had sausage & Waffles. Kay went over to Thompsons & got his basketball stuff.

They did chores & Ivard & all the kids went to church & I had a bath & went to bed until time to go to work.

Gene got up and did the chores & it was 11: A.M. before we got up. We ate & I iorned all afternoon. Ivard went to work this afternoon.

Gene did chores early & at 5:40 I took him & Ray to Adrian to go on the bus to Nyssa to play ball. I went down & went with Bodell. Kids got beat by Nyssa 3 points. They played worse than usual & 8 min. quarters besides. They sure were tired. It was still an exiteing game. Bodell & I stayed & watched 1st half of Nyssa, John Day A. tournment game met Kids at cafe in Adrian & went down & got car & came home at 9:30 & went right to bed we were so tired.

Friday, February 21, 1958

Kids went to school & Ivard & Tom Hauled manure all day. I went to Adrian & got groc. & Jerry made a cake for 70's banquet. I read. Jerry cooked dinner for Ivard & Tom.

At 4: Jerry & I took the stuff over to Barton's for 70's banquet tonight & Jerry stayed at Adrian to go to Baker on school bus. I came home & got ready & at 6: Ivard & I went over to Pattersons & went to Baker to the tournment. We rode with Thompson's tonight.

We beat Richland 44 to 34. We stoped in Huntington & ate. It was real foggy comeing home. We waited up to high school for a half hr. for bus to get Jerry. It was 3: A.M. when we got home.

Kids about missed the bus. Ivard did chores & we ate & Jerry did up the work & I washed 4 batches of clothes & got them put away & worked & got them put away & worked on my books.

Cloudy but warm.

Tom came up & helped Ivard haul manure all day. Jerry cooked dinner for them.

I washed my hair & patched awhile & read.

At 6: Ivard & I went over to Patterson & at 6:30 We left for Baker to tournment. Thompsons went with us. I laid off sick again. Adrian Played at 9:30 & beat Huntington 60-55. Kay made 15 pts. after the game we drove to Huntington & ate. We got home at 2:30 A.M. Went with Pattersons.

I came home from work & bathed Jackie & doctored & went to bed. I have such an awful cold.

I got up at 2: & iorned Kay 2 pr. pants & 3 shirts to take on his trip to Baker & at 3:30 Ivard took Dale to Adrian to go to Primary with kids & got Kay & he came home packed & when kids came we ate. at 5: Ivard & I took Kay over to high school to go to Baker to tournment. while we were sitting down by Websters waiting for kids to come from Primary Ivard decided to go too so he went & called Thompsons & talked to Bob & we brought kids home & both laid off sick & got ready & at 6:30 went & got Pattersons & Thompsons & left. got up there for last half of first game. Adrian played last game & beat St. Francise 60 to 54. Kay made 12 points. Kids stayed there all night. We went to Royal after & ate with McDonnalds & Brewers, 12 of us. we got home about 2: A.M. rained on us some.

I came home from work & went right to bed. I got up at 1: & got ready and went to relief Society, stoped in Adrian & got groc. came home & we ate & I went to bed until 7: then we put Jackie to bed & left her with Kay & the rest of us went over to the ward to the Elders party, show "Yankee Buchaneer," & hamberger fry. Jerry had to be to sunday school meeting. got home at 10:45 & got ready & went to work.

Ivard left here at 10: for Nampa for his annual railroad physical. passed OK & I passed him on his way home, down by Toms, when I was going to work. He'd been up to pool hall all afternoon & evening. At least he didn't drink anything.

I came home from work & went right to bed with Ivard. We got up at noon & went to Caldwell to bank & got groc. I got Kay some pajamas to wear on tournment trip & Dale some overalls on sale. had the car greased & oil change.

I came home from work & got Jackie ready for church & took some pills & went to bed. I have such an awful cold. Ivard took Jackie & all the kids to Priesthood & sunday school. Jerry got dinner when he came home & we ate & I took him over to Duaines to go to Nyssa to meeting. I came back & took some more pills & went back to bed. They did chores and Ivard & kids all went to church & Jackie & I went to bed. Ivard went to work at 10: & I left at 11:

Came home from work & Ivard was home in bed and I went right to bed. I got up at noon & Jerry & Kay & Gene & I went to Caldwell to bank but it had closed.

Came home & I laid down & Jerry got supper & I took Gene & Ray over to church to practice their dance for floor show & I sat & read. Came home & had to take Kay to Adrian to catch bus for New Plymouth. They did chores & we took Gene & Ray over to Gails to waite for Gold & Green ball but Gail had gone to ball game so we took them back over to Stake house.

Rained hard all evening & night.

We went to New Plymouth & watched Adrian get beat, Adrian didn't care if they won or not & it looked it. Got over after kids in time to see them in floor show. Came home & I left for work. Kay came with Pete.

Ray scrubbed while we were to town.

Kids went to school & Ivard came home & went to bed & I went back with him for awhile then I washed 2 batches of clothes & got books up & Jerry did up the work & made chilli.

I made 2 pumpkin pies & 2 shells & put clothes away. Grinder guy came & I went down to Toms & got Ivard, was helping him put manure loader on.

Gene stayed over to school to go to game. we ate & Ivard did chores & Ivard & I & Kay went to Fruitland to Tournment. Ray rode over to Adrian with Tom & went on the bus. Fruitland beat us 34 to 24. didn't get started quick enough. Gene made 8 points. We got a real nice 2nd place trophy. Gene came home on bus & Sewell bought them all a hamberger & brought him home. We both went to work.

Kids went to school & Ivard did chores & at 10: we went up & got my check & I got valentines for Gene & we got groc. & came home & had a sandwich & at 12:15 Ivard & I & Dale left for Fruitland for 2nd game in grade school tournment. We beat Marshing 26 to 19 to play for championship Friday night. They didn't look as good today. Gene only made 4 points.

Jerry had supper ready when we got home, stoped at high school & got Kay from practice & stoped to Besendorfers to see about a gobler. stoped to Gails a min.

Ivard went to bed until 10: & went to work. I read awhile then took Kay to Nyssa to Stake Gold & Green ball & I went over to Gails & watched T.V. until midnight & got Kay & came home.

I didn't have to work tonight.

I came home from work & Ivard was just getting ready for bed so I went too. I got up at 2: & read & at 3:30 I took Dale over to Prune Orchard to meet Mrs. Bullen & go to Primary. I read some more & Jerry got supper. I went & got kids at Orchard at 6: & at 6:30 I had to go back to Adrian & take Kay to go to Harper & play ball. They won.

Mrs. Bullen came & took Ray to Mutual.

I didn't have to work tonight or tomorrow night, no shortening. We all went to bed early.

Gail & Lynda stoped in a few min. on way to town, took Kay to school.

I came home from work & made some jello & went to bed for a hr. & Jerry fixed me a salad to take to relief society work day. Syble & Nancy came over & we went & got Ida & Mrs. Gale & went at 11: Ivard went to Wilder with Lee & Duaine. I came home at 3:30, Mrs. Gale is all I had to take home, the rest of them got out in Adrian when I stoped for groc. had good dinner.

I came home & went to bed but couldn't sleep so I read until about 8: I took Jerry over to go to meeting with Duaine. Ray went to practice after school & never did come home, stayed over to Haneys all night.

I came home from work and went to bed until 11:30 then got up & got ready & Ivard & I & Dale went to Homedale to first game of grade school tournment. We beat Homedale 46 to 9 & Gene was high point man. we stoped in Wilder & had a milk Shake. came home & went right to bed so I could go to P.T.S.A. with Kay & he came home & went to show in Nyssa with Gail & Lynda & stayed all night. They were over for supper.

Gene did chores & Ivard & all the kids boys went to Priesthood & sunday school. I put a roast on & read paper & dressed jackie & washed 4 batches of clothes & put away 2 batches I did yesterday I put potatoes under the meat & cooked carrots & peas. We ate when they got home & Ivard had a nap & I read & Ray & Dean did dishes. Ivard left for work in Boise at 3: & I took Gene collecting Fast offerings. Came home & finished reading the first volume of the "Decline & Fall of Roman Empire."

Jackie has a cold in her eyes.

Notus is 1st place & Adrian is 2nd.
Kay made 13 points.

Ray scrubbed & cleaned the house. I came from work & Ivard had just got home & in bed so I went to bed & Jerry got kids breakfast.

Nice day today.

I got up at noon & took Ray, Dean & Dale to Caldwell & got Ray & Dale new shoes & they got their Valentines. We had a hamberger, milk shake & french fries. Came home at 3:30 & washed clothes & read awhile.

Ivard went to Boise to work at 3: for 4: Gene did chores & I took Jerry, Gene & Kay to Adrian to ball game with Notus. They beat us 62 to 61 & the referees (& their coach kept interfearing) were for Notus. The gym was packed & after the game Brewer jumped out at the Notus coach & Gail was trying to hold him off & the Notus coach slugged him on the side of the head. There could really have been a brawl but they turned all the lights out. Brewer got cought in hall by 3 Notus guys & got a broken nose & jaw. I took Earl home. Kay got home at 2:30 with Peter Brice. Ivard got home at 11: my night off. They referees locked themselves in dressing room.

I came home from work & went right to bed.

Ivard hauled 2 loads of manure & at noon I got up & I went over to Adrian & watched the grade school beat Vale 36 to 3. Gene made 10 points. Rays team got beat.

It rained awhile this afternoon. We came home & brought Kay & Jerry had supper ready. & we ate. Gene & Ray went to church to dance practice for floor show in Junior Gold & Green Ball & Dean went to birthday party at Steiners & we met them at the ball game. After we ate I laid down until Ivard did chores then we took Kay & went to Adrian to game. We beat Homedale 54 to 41. Kay made 7 points. We came home & Ivard left for Boise to work I got ready & went to work at 11:30. Audry forgot to wake up.

I came home from work & went to bed and Jerry did up the work & worked on his lessons and Roger slept & played with Dale.

I came home from work & dressed jackie & ate & a little & went to bed Jerry did up the work & worked on his lessons. Roger & Dale played games.

Roger took Dale over to meet Mrs. Bullen & go to Primary. I got up & Jerry & Roger took off. I went & got kids from Primary over at Howes's corner & got supper & we ate. After they did chores. No one went to Mutual. Ivard doctored Kays leg.

Jerry had supper all ready & we ate & I laid down awhile when Gene got the chores done we took Kay & went to Adrian to ball game. We beat Jordan Valley. Kay didn't play his leg is so bad big boil. Sarre took him to Dr. after game & had a shot & Hatch had to have his face sewed under his eye.

I came home from work & Ivard was to work & Kids were to school. Jerry had Jackie dressed & was cleaning up. Roger swept & cleaned the floors. I washed a batch of clothes & sorted one out for Jerry to do & I went to bed. I got up at 2: & worked on my books & washed another batch of clothes. Jerry put meat on & him & Roger went up to see if they could get a job at Simplots. I put carrots on & put a cooked chicken in freezer.

When Kids came home we ate Ivard doubled & wasn't home when I left for work at 11:

Jerry & Roger stoped in & changed their clothes when they came back from Caldwell & took off again.

I came home from work & Kids were ready to go to church so Kay drove them & I went to bed with Ivard, he'd just got home. Jerry & Dale rode with Roger, he stayed all night. We didn't get much sleep with Jackie fussing around. Kids got home at 1:45 & I warmed up the chicken pie. Ray stayed over to Haneys until after church & Jerry & Roger went places all afternoon, weren't home when I left for work. They stoped in a min. about 8: Ivard & Kids went to church & Kay stayed home & tended Jackie & let Ivard miss out on a $30. trip to Boise, told them he was to church.

I went to bed & got up at 10:30 & got ready for work. Ida forgot to wake up & never came until 11:30. we got there at 5 min's till. Ground hog saw his shadow.

I came home from work & went right to bed. Ivard went to Parma & pd. jewler & got Genes birthday dog chaine then they came home, him & Gene, & took Kays pig to Caldwell to sale. & Kay washed the car.

I got up at 12:30 & Jerry had the chicken & veg. ready for pie & I made biscuits & put on top & made a salad & at 1:15, when Ivard got home we all went over to ward reunion & programe. came home at 3:30 & Ivard & I & Kay rode to Caldwell with Gail & Lynda & got Kay 2 pr. of dress pants on sale. Came home at 5:45 & Gail took Kay over to Adrian to go to Marshing to play ball. Ivard got called to work for 10: so he went to game in pick-up & on to work. Roger came from Utah & Jerry went to game with him so I went to bed until time to go to work. Roger stayed all night. hard cold wind tonight.

I got up at 12:30 & Ivard & I went to Caldwell & had a milk shake then to Nampa & got Ivards check & Pd car & tractor then back to Caldwell to bank & got groc. came home at 3:30 & I laid down until Jerry got supper (still couldn't sleep) & I ate then Gene did chores and Ivard, Gene & Ray took Kay to Adrian to ball game. They beat Middleton I stayed home & went to bed then I only slept about an hour before it was time to go to work. Ivard & Kids watched T.V. when they got home.

I came home from work & bathed Jackie & went to bed. Ivard finished chores & hauled manure until noon then I got up & we took Dale & went to Wilder and watched Gene beat them 38 to 8, Gene made 17 points. Rays team got beat. came home & read until kids came home & Jerry had supper ready & we ate.

Ivard killed 2 chickens & cleaned them.

I made out payments & mailed before I went to bed.

Came home from work & kids were to school & Ivard was doing chores. I dressed Jackie and went to bed. I got up this afternoon & read the "Decline & Fall" for a couple of hrs. Jerry got supper ready & I made gravey & we ate when Kay got home from ball practice and Dean & Dale came from Primary. Jerry took Dale over to Prune Orchard to go & I went & got them.

Ivard & I took Ray over to Prune Orchard to meet Mr. Bullen & go to Mutual, the rest of the kids went to bed & Jerry did dishes. Ray come home with Mrs. Bullen when she came to go to work. I went to bed until time to go to work.

Gene is 14 years old today.

Gene got up & did chores & Ivard went to Boise to work for 8: I fixed Ivards lunch & went back to bed & read awhile then got kids breakfast. & they went to school. I read while Jerry did up work then I washed & finished my big iorning (114 pieces) I washed my hair & had a bath & Syble & Nancy came & took me to relief society. I made Gene a birthday cake before I left & Jerry frosted it & fried chicken & got supper. When Ivard & kids got home we took Gene to Parma & got him some pants for his birthday came home & Gail & Lynda were here & we ate & Gene did chores & Ivard took Jerry over to church to meeting. Lynda & I laid down. They went home at 9:30.

I went back to work tonight & I started driveing.

I got up & fixed Ivards lunch & he left for Boise to work then I went back to bed awhile & read then I got the kids breakfast & they went to school after Gene did chores. I read while Jerry did up the work then I iorned, did 45 pieces. I washed 4 batches of clothes.

I made a rasher pudding & put on to steam & made 2 dew berry pies, 2 shells & some cinnamon rolls. We ate when Ivard got home & I laid down & read until kids did dishes & chores. Ivard laid down & read too then he went to bed & I got books up & watched T.V.

Jerry went ward teaching with Duaine.

Ivard left for work at Boise at 6:50 A.M. I got up & got his lunch then went back to bed & read until Gene got chores done.

Ray, Dean & Dale had a bath & we all got ready for church Dwaine came & took Jerry, Kay Gene & Ray to Priesthood & me & little kids went & got Syble & Nancy & went to sunday school. came home & put a roast on & had a sandwich & read all afternoon. When Ivard came home at 4: we ate & Jerry & Dale did the dishes. Ray went home with Schulthies so he could go to meeting in Nyssa with Ray. Gene did chores & we all went to church. They called Ivard up out of the audience to talk & he was scared. It snowed on us going & comeing, nearly raine.

Gene did chores and Ivard went to work at Boise again.

Kids sacked grain & the grinder came. I iorned all day, 60 pieces. I washed 4 batches of clothes. Jerry got supper & I made gravey & we ate when Ivard got home at 4:30.

At 7: Ivard & I, Kay, Gene & Ray went to the ball game at Adrian. It sure was exciteing we beat Wilder 54 to 52. Kay was high point man with 18 points. We came home & watched the late show & had some punch. stormy today.

I came home from work & dressed Jackie & went to bed. Ivard went to Boise to work at 8: A.M.. We have 4 days off. I was going to lay down until noon then get up & iorn & I never woke up until kids came home from school. I was so tired. Jerry made chilli for supper.

We ate and Gene did chores & I took Kay over to Adrian to go to Fruitland & play ball. Jerry got a box of stuff out of locker & we came home & I got ready & Ivard, Gene & I went to game. We won 54 to 48. After the game we went to our ward to Gold & Green ball, had one dance then saw the floor show & danced until 11:30. came home & Ray had the floor scrubed. Kay went with us after the game. Kay was high Point man 13.

Came home at 3:45 & Jerry had a cake made & supper about ready & my bedding washed. He's working on his Lincoln civil service course again.

Ivard worked overtime & never got home until 7: & we all left for Adrian & ball game. I took Jerry on over to church to a meeting & came back to game. Harper beat us one point. After the game we went over to church & got Jerry & came home & I got ready & went to work.

I came home from work & bathed Jackie & went to bed. Ivard milked & about 10:30 left for Caldwell to get the papers to change Idaho licence to Oregon on the Pick-up. I guess he went to work at 4: because he never did get home before I left for work at 11:

Jerry got dinner when he got home and we ate & I rode with Ivard to take Jerry over to Mitchells to go to Nyssa to Leadership. I went back to bed & Ivard too & never woke up until 5:30, we were supposed to go get Jerry, Mitchells brought him home.

Ivard & kids went to church & I patched me 2 pr. of overalls & washed them & Jackies clothes & got them put away. I watched T.V. until they got home then I laid down an hr. & got ready & went to work.

I came home from work & Ivard had gone to work at 8; I washed 2 batches of clothes & dressed Jackie & went to bed at 10:30. I got up at 5:30 & Jerry had supper ready. We waited until 6: for Ivard to get home then we ate. Ray was over to Lee's so I sent Kay after him in the Pick-up & we were just going to Adrian to the game in the pick up without a licence on it when Ivard drove in at 7: he'd had to work a 2 hrs. over time. We went to game. Adrian beat New Plymouth 52 to 50. took Earl home & came home & I got ready & went to work.

We got up at noon & Ivard & I, Dale and Jackie went over to High school & watched grade school get beat by Parma the 7th graders played the 2nd game & won 8 to 6, Ray made the winning basket. We waited for kids then got some eggs & came home & Jerry had supper ready & we at at 4:

I came home from work & Ivard was home & in bed & Jerry & kids were still in bed. big kids were to school. I went right to bed.

We got up at 1:45 & Jerry had work done & a batch of washing done. We had a sandwich & punch & I got books up & made out Payments to maile. at 3:30 Ivard, Dale & Jerry went up to Simplots to see about getting on- no soap for 3 weeks, anyway. I put scalloped potatoes on.

They came home just as bus came. I laid down & read until supper. Ivard stoped in Wilder & had a hair cut.

Kay came home at 8: & changed clothes & took off sleigh-rideing with a bunch of kids. Gail, Gene, & Ray went over to see them too. I came home from work & sent Ivard to Caldwell to get Dales birthday presents & groc. & I laid down an hr. then I got ready & Nancy & Syble came & took me over to relief society work day. Syble, Nancy & I made 3 plastic doilies. had a good dinner. came home at 3:30 laid down until kids came home & we ate Dales birthday dinner Jerry had ready, meat loaf, spring salad, peas & cheese sauce, parsley carrots, icecream & cake. Ivard had to go to work at 4: in Boise so I didn't see him. I went to bed at 6: & when I woke up to go to work it was snowing, ground covered. Ida got laid off so I rose to work with Wilsons.

I fried chicken & got supper on & when Kids came from school we went to Parma & got Ivards ring & mailed the gas refund slips. When we got home Jerry was home from Boise, went with Ralph Shy. When Kay came we ate. I frosted the cup cakes I made this afternoon & Ivard Kay & I took them & went to P.T.S.A.

When we got up there was 2 ins of snow & it snowed & rained until noon. Gene did chores & Ivard came home & went to bed & we left Jackie with him & I took all the kids to Priesthood and sunday school. It was kind of slippery. came home & fixed chicken & noodles & Jello salad & we ate at 3:

Gene did chores & Ivard & all the kids went to Church. Jackie & I stayed home and I read.

They came home from work & Ivard had to leave for work at 10: We watched T.V. There was such a cold wind blowing the little kids slept on davenport tonight. Jerry stayed all night over to Ralph Shys.

Saturday, January 11, 1958

I got up & made waffles & we ate when Gene got the chores done. We played Flinch awhile & I washed some clothes. Jerry & I went to Adrian & got veg. out of locker & some groc. & Ivard & kids played basketball. Ivard killed & cleaned 3 chickens & I washed them.

I got my books up & read awhile.

I helped Jerry fix supper & we ate early.

Gene did chores & Ivard took Kay over to Adrian to play ball. Ivard had to go to work at 11: so he went to Homedale to game in truck & went on to work after. Jerry, Gene & I went in car. We won 49-38. Kay really played good. Came home & watched T.V. Kay got home at 2:30 A.M.

Friday, January 10, 1958

Ivard came home from work just before kids went to school & went to bed until 11:30 then he got up & we went over to grade school & hauled kids to Vale to play ball, Gene & Ray & 3 other kids. The regular team won then the younger kids played a game & they got beat. We picked all the kids up at school & came home & Jerry had supper ready & we ate & at 7: Ivard & I, Kay, Gene, Ray, Dean & Dale went to Adrian to ball game We beat Marshing 58 to 42. We came home & watched T.V.

Thursday, January 9, 1958

Gene got breakfast & kids went to school Ivard milked & read awhile then had a nap. I washed a batch of clothes then worked on my books & copied my diary into this new book.

Frosty & 20 degrees - fog.

I washed a batch of overalls & started to read Gibbons 3 Volume "Decline & Fall of the Roman Empire" Fixed out gas tax refund form for 1957 Jerry got supper & we ate when kids got home. Gene did chores & kids went to bed early. Ivard went over to high school & played basketball with church team The town team beat them. I watched T.V. Ivard went to work at 10:

After Kids went to school I got books up & wrote to Mother.

Frosty & while all day, 20 degrees.

Ivard went down to Tom's at 11:45 & when he came home at 1:30 we took Jackie & went to Caldwell to bank then I went & had Int entered in all the kids books. Ivard bought me this new diary, I'd been using a tablet. Ivard got the $50 bounty for cougar skin today & he met the guy who owned it & he gave him $26.50 of it for sending it in to Oregon. Idaho only Pd. 25. Came home & Jerry had supper & we ate & Ivard & I left to go swimming at Givvan's, stoped on way & loved awhile. swam from 7:30 to 9: then we went to Midway & had shrimps. came home at 10:50 & Gene & Ray weren't home from Mutual yet. came 5 min. later, been up to Smiths with Nancy. Jerry & Kay were in bed & little kids. Sure fun tonight.

mailed letter to Lyle
cloudy most all day

I wrote a short Poem for Stake relief Society contest & Jerry typed it while I read my lesson & washed 3 batches of clothes. Ivard took off at 12:30, said he was going down to Tom's. When I came home from Relief Society at 3:50 he wasn't home yet, so after we ate & he still hadn't come at 6: I drove to Nampa & found the Pick-up in a Parking lot so I parked by it & walked around looking in windows but couldn't see him. I got so cold I went back to car & got warm & was just going again when he came. I was mad. He'd been playing pool & lost $12. then he played card & won that back & $20. besides. I got home at 10: & he drove in right behind me.

I went streight to bed & he watched T.V. Kay went to Jordan Valley to play ball, got beat. Ivard hadn't had any thing to drink. Went after Mrs. Bullen (she called) & was late & she was already there.

mailed letter to Bill

Kids went to school & I bathed Jackie then Gail called up & wanted us to come & go after his car license so we took Dale & went to Nyssa & went to Ontario in Gails car. came back & Lynda cooked dinner & we played Penochle until 3:50 & came home & Gail went to work. Came home by Parma & Ivard left his new ring to be made larger. got home & Jerry had house cleaned & supper ready & we ate when kids came. Gene did chores & Ivard & I played 2 hand Penochle until 7: then I took Jerry over to church to Ward Leadership Meeting & I wrote to Lyle while I waited. After meeting there was a genealogy play & we stayed & watched it. got my diary up too. got home at 10: & saw "Farmers Daughter"

Sunday, January 5, 1958

I had such a cold in my head I stayed home with Jackie & got dinner ready & Ivard & all the kids went to Priesthood, sunday school & Fast meeting. They left at 8:15 because Gene had to be to earlier meeting. I dried the overalls I washed last night & did another batch. I made a angle food cake.

They got home at 2: & we ate & Ivard & I went to bed. After they did chores we got up & Ivard popped corn & Jerry made punch & we watched T.V. after kids went to bed we watched the late show "Kings Row." It sure was good, lasted until 12:25. I'd read the book a long time ago.

I wrote to Bill & Jean today.

Saturday, January 4, 1958

Gene did chores. I never got up until 10: & Ivard got up about a half hr. earlier. each one got their own breakfast.

I got books up & kids played "Flinch" and Ivard read. Dean & Dale played little cars

Cloudy & cold. Kay worked on type writter for awhile. We ate early & Gene did chores & Ray & Dean did dishes. Ivard took Kay to Adrian to go to Middleton & play ball while Jerry & I got ready then we went. When we got there Middleton had gone to Adrian mix up by control board. We waited until they came back & they eliminated J. V. game & it was 9: when the game started. regular rough & tumble. Adrian won 68 to 54. We droped Jerry off home & went to Adrian after Kay & had a milk Shake while we waited. It was 12: when we got home.

Friday, January 3, 1958

Kids had to go back to school today after they left I got suit cases emptied & put away & washed 2 batches of clothes then Ivard & I went to Nampa & got Ivards check & Pd. car & tractor & Pd. on my laway & went to yard office then we went to Caldwell to bank & got groc. I got my days pay from Simplot & a Xmas bonus day too.

Sunny but chilly.

Worked on books & Jerry had supper ready when kids got home from school.

Kay went to game with Pete Hammond & Ivard, Jerry, Gene, & I went to Wilder to game. Adrian got beat 39 to 38. Awful oficiating.

We watched "Keeper of the Bees" when we got home.

Thursday, January 2, 1958

It rained 1.4 inches during nite.

We ate & packed & left for home at 9:50 A.M. stoped & bought a bag of oranges & 12 lbs of bananas for 1.

We started up Donnors Pass & they stopped us & said we'd need chains but before we got them out they came back & said we wouldn't need them. The roads were slushy but OK & sun was shineing.

We stoped in Reno & left kids in car & Ivard & I went in Horse Shoe Club & won $2.50 on slot machine & time we went to Nugget & Harolds Club we lost it & $2.20 of ours.

I drove from Lovelock home, over 300 miles. snow in the air but roads were dry. We got home at 10:30 & got to bed. Jerry & Kay were in bed.

Wednesday, January 1, 1958

We never got up until 8: Gene felt alright this morning. Barbra made hot cakes & we ate & I hung out the clothes we left washing yesterday.

Sunny & a breeze.

Ivard & Lyle watched Rose Parade & Orange & Sugar bowl games back & forth; then they watched the Rose & Cotton bowl games the same way. I got books up & helped Dean write to Mother. Barbra cooked a roast & got a big dinner at 1: & tonight we had hambergers, I fixed. got clothes in & aired.

It started to rain about dark. Kids went to bed & we played Penochle until 10: & went to bed. Lyle had to go out on a flight at 2: A.M.
