Wednesday, April 30, 1958

I came home from work & ate & went to bed. Ivard woke me up at noon & Dale & I went with him to take 2 cows to sale at Cartue Junction then we went to Nampa & got Ivards last R.R. check & pd. car & baler & he signed up for unemployment. picked up trailer & came home & took trailer back to Lees. I went to bed but got woke p a half hr later so I got up & got my books up.

When we got home Jackie & Jerry were gone, went to Nampa with Nancy & Duaine. Jerry fixed supper.

Ray walked home from school & started to mowe Millers lawn but came home early so he could go to Mutual. Kay drove Jerry & Ray to Mutual. I went & got Dean from P.

Ivard & I went to bed & loved. I rode to work at 11: with Ida.

I sure sun burned my arm today, hurts.

Tuesday, April 29, 1958

We came home from work, Jerry got laid off again this morning, and ate & I went to bed after I washed 2 batches of clothes. Jerry went to bed & got up at 3: & tended Jackie when Ivard, Dale & I went to Fruitland to ball game. We won. Came by Adrian & brought Kay home. Jerry had supper ready & we ate & I went to relief society & Jerry to a sunday school meeting. Jerry came home with Duaine & I came home & went to bed for an hr. & went to work at 11:10. I drove alone.

Ivard went over to Lee's & sharpened plow.

Monday, April 28, 1958

We came home from work & ate & Jerry went to bed. I washed a batch of clothes & hung them out while Ivard watered the new lawn. Jackie & I went to bed & Ivard did dishes & cleaned up & went down to plow.

I got up at 4:30 & put supper on & got my books up. We ate when Kay got home from ball practice.

Gene did chores and Ivard plowed corn ground.

I went back to bed at 8:

Jerry & I went to work at 11:30.

Sunday, April 27, 1958

Gene did chores & Ivard & all the boys went to Priesthood & sunday school. I dressed Jackie & cleaned up & made a big kettle of potatoe salad & barbacue & when they came from church we ate. I washed 3 batches of clothes. Gail & Lynda & Debbie ate with us. Lyle, Barbra their friend & kids came & we fixed them something to eat then we played "Penochle" winners playing the extra couple. We took pictures & they all went home at 6: Lyle is going back to Cal. tonight.

We had icecream & donuts before they left.

Gene did chores & Ivard & all the kids went to church & Jerry Jackie & I went to bed. Jerry & I went to work at 11:25.

Saturday, April 26, 1958

I came home from work and laid down for an hr. we don't have to work tonight. Jerry made waffles for breakfast. Lyle came up from California with a friend & they came about 10: & Barbra & kids. Jerry, Kay & I went to Caldwell to bank & Jerry got groc. & bought us a hamberger & drink. He got Jackie 3 pr peddle pushers & 2 pr. shorts & 2 blouses. We got home about 2: & Barbra was fixing lunch so Jerry helped her & we ate about 3: They went home & I cut Ivards hair & washed it & Kays while Gene did chores. I laid down an hr. then I got up & Ivard popped corn & Jerry had some candy & we watched T.V. "Since You Went Away" good.

Jerry got called in on clean up at Simplots & rode with Ernie. my night off.

Friday, April 25, 1958

We came home from work & bathed Jackie & ate. Jerry got laid off for rest of this season.

Ivard went down to Toms & Jerry, Jackie & I went to bed. Ivard got me up at 3: & we went to Homedale to ball game & it was at Adrian so we went over there. Adrian got beat 9 to 7. We came home and I put supper on & got my books up.

Gene went out to milk and we ate & he ate when he came in.

I went to bed & got up at 11: & went to work. I drove alone.

It rained tonight.

Thursday, April 24, 1958

We came home from work & when Ivard got through milking we went up & got Barbra & Kids & went to town & put my check in bank & got a few groc. Jerry bought me some new towels & Barbra got Jackie a pr. of pedel pushers. We went to dairy & got some icecream. We took Barbra home & came home at 2: & Jerry & I went to bed. Ivard woke us up at 5: & we got up & got supper. Went back to bed at 8: got up at 11: & Jerry & I went to work at 11:25.

It snowed on us comeing home from work this morning didn't freeze tomatoes yet.

Wednesday, April 23, 1958

We came home from work & went to bed. at 9:30 Ivard took Kays pigs to sale & signed up for unemployment. He came home & took Dale to Adrian to go to Primary & he watched Gene play ball then he stayed until Kay was through practicing. I didn't get much sleep tending Jackie all day. Kay went & got kids from Primary. Gail & Lynd came & had supper. Gail gave Jackie a good licking because she pulled Debbies hair & when Debbie bites they think its funny. Then they got mad, went up to see Barbra.

Jerry took Ray over to meet Bullen & go to Mutual.

I went to bed until time to go to work.

Tuesday, April 22, 1958

We came home from work & went to bed. I got up at 2: & iorned 10 pieces. Jerry tended Jackie & Ivard, Dale & I went over to Adrian & watched them get beat. one run by Marshing came home & ate, had chilli & fruit cocktail. I laid down until time to go to relief society at 7:30 & Jerry went to sunday school meeting. We came home at 10: & I laid down a half hr. & Jerry & I went to work at 11:25.

Monday, April 21, 1958

We came home from work & Jerry went to bed & I dressed Jackie & went to bed at 9:30 & Ivard took a heifer calf over to donate to church. I got up & put Jackie to bed at noon & Ivard went over to help Joe plant tomatoes. I got up at 3 & cleaned up & iorned & washed 2 big batches. Jerry got & got supper & when Ivard & Kids came we ate & Ivard & I went to Adrian after Kay & got feed & groc. stoped up by big bend Park road & talked to Gail & Dean

It rained on & off all day & hard tonight.

Ivard poped corn & I got books up & went to bed 8:

We went to work at 11:15.

Jerry & Kay went ward teaching.

Sunday, April 20, 1958

Gene did chores & Ray, Dean & Dale had a bath & Ivard & all the Kids went to priesthood & sunday school. I cleaned up & washed Jackies clothes & bathed her. I made brownies & got dinner & when they got home from sunday school Ivard went & got Barbra & Kids & we ate.

Kay took Jerry over to Duaines to go to Nyssa to sunday school meeting.

We took Barbra home about 6: I washed my har.

Ivard & all the Kids went to church & I put Jackie to bed & had a bath & went to bed

Wind blew hard.

Jerry & I went to work at 11:30.

Saturday, April 19, 1958

Jerry came home & went to bed. We ate waffles & Gene & Ivard planted garden, potatoes, beets, parsnips, peas 2 kinds of beans & lima beans, & set out more tomatoes then they went up to help Joe plant tomatoes.

I changed my & Kids beds & washed clothes & iorned all afternoon, didn't get done.

We ate supper & Jerry made the beds & him & I went to bed early & Ivard & Kids watched T.V.

Friday, April 18, 1958

We came home from work & Jerry went to bed. I dampened clothes & washed 2 or 3 batches then we went & got Barbra & Kids & went to Parma & got tractor brake fixed then went to Caldwell & let Barbra out to shop & Ivard went to Nampa & took a 60 day leave of absence & signed up for unemployment came back & got Barbra & took her home. came home & Jerry got supper & we ate & at 7: Ivard & I & Kay & Gene went to Adrian to ball game Wilder beat us 7 to 5. Adrian made 6 errors. I didn't have to work tonight but Jerry did, he rode with Wilsons. came home from ball game & went to bed. Ivard watched T.V. I was dead tired.

Thursday, April 17, 1958

We came home from work & Ivard was doing chores & Kids were still asleep so Jerry & I went right to bed and Ivard dressed Jackie. I got up at 10: & we went over & got Barbra & Kids & went to Parma & Pd. phone & lights & got garden & lawn seed. Dale stayed up & played with Stanley all afternoon & Joe brought him home at 5:

We came home at 1: & I helped Ivard get pigs in then went to bed.

I got up at 5: & Jerry had supper ready & we ate & I got books up.

Ivard took Kay to Wilder with his gopher tails.

Ray went selling cards on way home from school, sold 2 boxes. I went back to bed at 7:30.

Jerry & I went to work at 11:15.

Jerry & Duaine went ward teaching.

Wednesday, April 16, 1958

I came home from work & went right to bed. I was so tired & didn't feel good. Jerry tended Kids, cleaned house & washed some clothes.

Ivard took a cow to the sale today.

I got up at 3:30 & Jerry took Dale over to the Orchard to go to Primary & I peeled potatoes & cut up for salad for him. He came home & got supper & I went to Adrian at 6: & got Kids & groc.

We ate & Kay drove him, Jerry & Ray to Mutual. Gene did chores & didn't go.

Jerry got called back to Simplots tonight.

I went to bed after supper until time to go to work. I drove Jerry & I & we left at 11:30.

Tuesday, April 15, 1958

I came home from work & coppied the federal income tax while Ivard went over & helped Lee dehorn a bull then we went to Nampa & got Ivards check & pd. car & filed Idaho Income tax & mailed the federal & Oregon's. Went to Caldwell & got a few groc. We came home at 1: & I went to bed. got up at 5:30 & we ate & Gene did chores & him Ivard & Kay went to Adrian to ball game. Jerry & I got ready & went over to church at 7:30 to relief society & Jerrys sunday school meeting. Jerry went over to game after with Duaine. I went to game, last inning on way home. Adrian beat Notus 10 to 0.

Jerry rode home with me. I laid down awhile (10 min.) then got ready & went to work.

Planted 7 rose bushes.

Monday, April 14, 1958

I came home from work & finished up income tax & ate & when Ivard got chores done him & I went to Ontario & filed Oregon Income tax for us & Jerry & Kay then we went to Payette to see about the loan on place, they came out to appraise it this afternoon but didn't tell us if we'd get it or not. I went to bed at 2: & got up at 4: & we ate when kids came & I got books up.

Ivard got ready & went over to P.T.S.A. & Kay went to ball practice under the lights. I went to bed at 7:30.

I went to work a 11:10.

Ivard got cut off at Nampa today

Sunday, April 13, 1958

I came home from work & Kay drove all the Kids to Priesthood & sunday school & I put the chickens in to roast & made jello salad & went to bed & Ivard tended Jackie & cleaned up the house & did dishes & got bread ready for dressing. I got up at noon & made dressing & cooked frozen peas & carrots & at 2:30 we ate dinner when Lyle, Barbra, Gail & Lynda got here. Had icecream & cake & all the guys played basketball. Gail went home early to get ready to go to Hermiston to Ins. school. I worked on income tax. We told Lyle goodbye & he went up to pack so he can go back to Calif. Barbra & Kids are staying up to Metcalf's until June. Kay drove Jerry, Gene & Ray to church & I went to bed until time to go to work. Ivard bathed Jackie & Dale & got them to bed & washed Deans hair. Ivard didn't work again today.

Saturday, April 12, 1958

Jerry got laid off again this morning. We came home & ate & Ivard & I went to Adrian & got cow & pig feed. I washed a batch of clothes then Jerry, Kay & I went to Caldwell & laid away some overalls & towels at Penny sale. & got some groc. & Jerry bought us a hamberger, fries & root beer. We got Kays coursage & came home at noon & I went to bed.

Gail came a little while.

Jerry got supper & Lyle & Barbra came & ate. Jerry went to show with Ralph Shy. Duaine & Nancy & Effie & C.L. & stayed all night over to Shy's.

We let Kay take the car & he took Claudia to the Junior Prom. I went to bed at 8:30 until time to go to work. worked on income tax.

Ivard didn't work today.

Ivard killed & cleaned 2 chickens.

Friday, April 11, 1958

We came home from work & ate & Jerry went to bed. I washed 4 batches of clothes & went to bed & Ivard tended kids and swept & cleaned up house & did dishes. at 1:30 he put Jackie to bed & him & Dale went over to high school to watch the grade school beat Nyssa. Gene pitched last 2 innings. Ivard got called to work for 4: so I dashed to Adrian & got him & he went to work & I stayed & brought the kids home from school.

Tonight was the Junior-Senior banquet at Ontario. Kay took Claudia & went with Pete Hammond. he was home when I went to work at 11:20. Jerry & I drove.

I slept from supper until time to go to work.

Lyle & Barbra came down awhile but left when I went to bed.

Ray scrubbed tonight.

Thursday, April 10, 1958

I came home from work & Kids had gone to school today. We ate & when Ivard got chores done we took Jerry, Dale & Jackie & went up to Simpots & Jerry got his check & we went to Caldwell to bank & Jerry & I went to Penny's 50th anniversary sale & really got some nice bargains. I laid away 24 yds of Percale at 25¢ a yd. & got Ray a pr. of levies for 1.44. Jerry got Gene & Ray & Kay a shirt & Dean a pr. of Levies & him 4 shirts. We got groc. and Jerry bought usa root beer. We went to dairy & got 2 gal. of icecream & calf feed & cheese & stuff. got home at 2: & put stuff away & went up to Metcalfs to get Lyle but he wasn't home so we went to New Plymouth & watched Adrian beat them 8 to 0. Rained on them. came home & ate & I went to bed until time to go to work. Jerry went back tonight so him & I drove. Ivard didn't work.

Wednesday, April 9, 1958

I came home from work and Ivard had gone to work for 8: Kids didn't have to go to school again today.

I went to bed and got up at 3:30 & Gene & I took Dean & Dale down to Bullens to go to Primary in Pick up. I went back to bed.

Lyle & Stanley came down and had supper with us at 6:30, after Kay had gone & got the kids from Primary, up at Big Bend Park road.

Ivard & Lyle were playing basketball & Gene didn't get done with chores so Kay took Ray to Mutual then he went up to high school to a magic show.

I laid down again until time to go to work at 11:. I drove our car tonight.

Tuesday, April 8, 1958

I came home from work and all the Kids were still home. didn't have to go to school because the furnace was broke. I went to bed & slept most of day. We ate and at 6: I went over to church to relief society work day. I left and came home about 9:30 and laid down for an hr. before I had to go to work.

Ray went selling cards & stayed over to Earl's all afternoon.

Lyle was down for awhile.

Ivard & Gene fixed fence.

Kay played Middleton & they won 19 to 1. It was at Adrian & Ivard didn't know.

Ivard didn't go to work today.

Monday, April 7, 1958

I came home from work and Ivard was allready home in bed. I went to bed & we got up at noon.

Kids didn't have to go to school today spring vacation.

Ivard is 43 today. Jerry made two cakes & stuffed eggs & I made potatoe salad. when I I got up.

Ivard & I took Ray to Parma to Dr. about his sore toe and Jerry fried chicken & when we came home Gail & Lynda, Lyle & Barbra & kids came & we had Ivards birthday dinner. He got a pr. overalls, 2 shirts tie, cap & book "Discourses of Brigham Young"

Lynda, Barbra & Jerry did dishes & Ivard & all the kids played basketball.

We played 6 handed Penochle and when Gene got chores done we ate icecream & cake. I laid down a hr. & went to work at 11: Ivard & Kids were still playing games.

Jerry went to sunday school meeting.

Sunday, April 6, 1958

We got up & all got ready & went to sunday school. Kay had to talk on easter program. Jackie sure looked cute in her easter dress. Gail, Lynda, Lyle, Barbra & kids were there. We came home & Lyle stoped in for few min. I made fruit cocktaile & sandwiches & we ate & Ivard & I went to bed awhile then he got up & I finished reading "Peyton Place." Kay drove Jerry, Gene & Ray to church & Ivard tended Kids & I went to bed. when I woke up at 10:30 to go to work Ivard had all ready left for work.

It rained tonight.

We put baked beans in oven to cook just before I left for work.

Saturday, April 5, 1958

We got up & Jerry made waffles & I started washing. did 4 big batches. Lyle came & stayed awhile then went up to Gails to wash but they weren't home so they brought it back here to do & Jerry was doing it until midnight. They went home & got ready & at 2: I took Barbra, her mother & sister to Caldwell then I took Ivard to Nampa to work for 3: Ray & I got presents for Ivards birthday & we came home about 6: & Gail & Lynda were here. Lyle & Barbra went up to there place & stayed all night.

Jerry got supper. I washed my hair this afternoon.

I went to Nampa after Ivard at 9:30 & waited until 10:45 till he got off then we had a root beer & came home.

Friday, April 4, 1958

We came from work & went to bed until noon then Ivard tended Jackie & Jerry & I & Dean & Dale went to Nampa & returned Jackies Easter dress & hunted all over for a bigger one then came to Caldwell & found one for 3. more with the slip. Jerry bought us a hamberger fries & root beer. We got groc. & went to dairy & got icecream. came home & Jerry fixed supper.

Kids didn't have to go to school today, spring vacation. They were up to big bend school playing ball all afternoon.

I was reading after supper & here came Lyle, Barbra & kids from Cal. They visited awhile then went up to Metcalfs.

Jerry got laid off this morning & didn't sleep all day. My night off.

Thursday, April 3, 1958

We came home from work & bathed Jackie & Ivard said he'd tend her while we slept so I put her in her bed & we went to sleep. woke up at noon & Jackie had all the stuff off the machine threw in floor 2 feet deep & Ivard was down to Tom's. I was so mad. Gail & Lynda came this afternoon.

Gene & Ray & went roller skateing with school at Ontario today came home from school on bus. Kay went Harper to play ball - won. He went to Nampa that night.

I went to bed after supper until time to go to work. Jerry & I rode with Ivard.

Wednesday, April 2, 1958

We came home from work & Ivard, Dale & I took Ray to school & got a few groc. came home & ate & went right to bed. It sure was a night mare. Dale was supposed to be tending Jackie but they woke us up every few min. got up at 3: & Ivard & Jackie & I took Dale over to Orchard to meet Audrey & go to Primary & we went to Parma & mailed Lyles Income tax refund that came today & got some hamberger. stoped & saw Nancys baby. washed baby clothes while Jerry got supper. Kay came home from ball practice & went & got Kids from Primary & we ate & Gene did chores & Kay drove Gene & Ray to Mutual.

I got books up & at 8: went to bed until time to go to work.

I forgot it was Lynda's birthday
rained hard awhile tonight

We came home from work & Ivard had gone to work. I took Gene to school in pick up & Jerry dressed Jackie unemployment office called Jerry & wanted him to come in and see about a job. I didn't want to drive Pick up to Caldwell so he called Lee & him & Duaine took him. I went to bed & Dale watched Jackie awhile but I didn't get much sleep, they kept waking me up. Gail & Lynda came just as Jerry was leaving so he met them in Caldwell & came home with them. Jerry bought Jackie a fancy Pink Nylon & lace dress for easter with hoop skirt slip. Jerry came home at 2: & went to Nyssa with Gail to see about a job at bank. I put Jackie to bed & Dale & I slept until Ivard woke us up when he got home at 4: I got supper & slept awhile then I went to Relief Society at 7:30, started it at night. brought Jerry home after, from sunday school meeting. went to bed for an hr. Ivard had to go to work at midnight again so Jerry & I rode with him.
